Sorting inventories feels like a chore and TFP have said many times they favor fun gameplay above everything.. so we are all waiting to see your solution to this (:

Are there any plans to allow all faction members the ability to remove/move machines (forge, workbench etc) in our bases?

Currently only the land claim owner can do so and is a bit of a pain.

I vaguely remember some mutterings about something along those lines before A17 thread was opened up but no more has been said about it since then.

An interface within the claim block? I dunno memory is hazy these days.

@gazz since you guys are worried about the boredom of sorting items.. How about simplifying it?

  • We have the sort button, which is great.
  • We have the R key to take everything, which is great.
  • How about an 'X' key to dump everything? That would be great.
  • We have shift-click to move only 1 item, which is great.
  • How about crtl-click to move item only if another one of the same kind is present in the destination inventory? This would ease sorting so much.
bump +1

I'd love to pull away from using the lcb (it makes sense for PvP but beyond that...), so I endorse a robust faction system. =)

...one that integrates allies and their behavior, possibly allowing their actions to affect your reputation, would be awesome.

The most painful and most tragic that I could read on the part of the moderators (MM, Roland, Faatal, Gazz) that we will not have a flying vehicle (gyrocopter) please add to the Alpha 17.X it does not matter when but please add it! it looked very good in the test video, and two more questions

* Will we have the possibility to have the flying vehicle? (gyrocopter) in the Alpha 17.x

* And what happened to the possibility of tame wolves? I'm forgotten?

I know they changed the ability to wrench up machines due to that one time I stole the chem station from thee local hospital but it was a bit harsh to make me have to ask someone else to do it for me.

Is there something in the XMLs that could be massaged or is it a hard code doodad?

I know it's a quality of life thing and probably not that high up on the imaginary list but it would be nice.

Enemies don't see vehicles. They see the player in the vehicle, so vultures would attack you like they normally would. Since gryocopters are not in A17, vultures attacking you in them is not something I have even tested yet.
Gyrocopters NOT in Alpha 17 confirmed... 😢

For what it's worth, when it's just the wife and I playing, we turn off loot re-spawn and do leave things in the containers that we don't yet need. We also destroy empty containers much of the time, so we easily know what still has stuff in it and don't have to remember as much. We, of course, don't do this on servers with other people, where loot re-spawn is on. (Noted since our current server admin reads and posts here :-) )
I've given medieval a brief shot (thanks to previously mentioned server admin), definitely keeping an eye on that one. :-)
No worries about what I see you write here, Qyzer. My server rules range from loose to non-existent. I'm just glad to see people enjoying the game, and I wish I had more time to be online helping it run smoothly.

Is there any reason why we can't have zombies wandering around cities as well as sleepers?
That would be fun. I loaded up alpha 14 this morning for ♥♥♥♥s and giggles (I started playing on 14.6 and wanted to see how much the game had changed since then), made a random world, ran until I found a town, and I quickly found myself surrounded. I liked the sense that heading into a former population center could be dangerous during a zombie apocalypse. That was there in 14 and 15, but is missing in 16. Sleepers do make it dangerous to loot inside a building, but I kinda miss getting chased down the road. I remember when I used to play in Navezgane all the time, "Diersville" deserved its name.

Aye, almost killed our server because hordes were a "hassle". That's the major flaw. And then the few people who do want to fight hordes get 3 hordes during 2 logins. So to speak.
Horde // repair / another horde / another repair. I literally had this a while back. That's why I think the horde system as it is, is very flawed and outdated. I would ironically call it 7daystorepair. But I literally had only 30 minutes until next horde :')
I suppose whenever the server drops to zero players, it could reset the time back to morning, so whoever jumps in next will have a day to prepare. Theoretically you could exploit this feature to delay horde night indefinitely... but only if nobody else wanted to play.
