You act like it's a bad thing to allow multiple people to be interacting with a container at the same time, what's so wrong with it that it's so highly improbable?
If anything it's extremely convenient and useful.
many games have stopped doing that due to ease of dupe exploits and there are bigger considerations to fix and implement atm.

Personally, I would prefer bloodmoon hordes to be like every 30 days, or 28 as the lunar cycle. and reintroduce random feral hordes. but it is called 7 days to die

every 30 days is the big horde, the mean one with specials and ferals, while the random one is normal zeds with dogs and a few ferals tossed in to spice it up, but no where near the bloodmoon type.

Definitely agree... Multiple avenues to unlock abilities... We do that in medieval...

As far as not knowing WHAT you need to keep and regretting dropping later, that's a product of people not leaving them in their original loot containers because of the magic refilling containers.

I made a thread asking about multiple people using the same container, and basically, between low priority and numerous problems to take into consideration, such a thing probably won't happen for a long time.

Personally, I would like to help make it happen, since I have some experience with it (emphasis on 'some'), but that probably won't happen either :p

That is true but the dupe bugs aren't impossible to fix or anything, however it's a fair point it's a lot easier and simpler to keep it like it is for sure.

ya, but the quality of life would be amazing.

like the ender hopper from minecraft? would be beyond xml editting. wouldnt mind having conveyor belts added, but that would break hordes. find them in 1 piece uncraftable inside of factories.
mods will evntually fix stuff of this nature
Noo not conveyer belts. Like digitally transfer. Like some games have with in game mail functions. Or personal loot bags.

But I also wouldn't mind more moving objects in 7days :)

For what it's worth, when it's just the wife and I playing, we turn off loot re-spawn and do leave things in the containers that we don't yet need. We also destroy empty containers much of the time, so we easily know what still has stuff in it and don't have to remember as much. We, of course, don't do this on servers with other people, where loot re-spawn is on. (Noted since our current server admin reads and posts here :-) )

I've given medieval a brief shot (thanks to previously mentioned server admin), definitely keeping an eye on that one. :-)

AND, if we're going to fix the UI, how about keeping the keys the same. S for scrap in ALL menu's, not just some menus. etc.
I always eat aloe cream before I remember that the "recipes" button is not in its usual place... More consistency would be welcome.

@gazz since you guys are worried about the boredom of sorting items.. How about simplifying it?

  • We have the sort button, which is great.
  • We have the R key to take everything, which is great.
  • How about an 'X' key to dump everything? That would be great.
  • We have shift-click to move only 1 item, which is great.
  • How about crtl-click to move item only if another one of the same kind is present in the destination inventory? This would ease sorting so much.

I do REALLY appreciate the fact that you want to reduce the amount of garbage we get from zombies though ;)
This ^^

Only changes I would suggest is X dumps everything from your inventory that already exists in the chest and Ctrl click shifts all items of the same type to/from your inventory.

Lol. All of these little gamey cheats give it a mainstream console feel; the game has a magic about it that gets eroded with little things like that, and the health bars, etc... Just my opinion.

Still the greatest game out there by far though.

I don’t get as much in game time as I’d like so I don’t like spending it grinding through sorting inventory.

I create 8-10 chests in my base and group items like everyone else. Being able to open a chest, press 1 key and have all matching items transferred isn’t a cheat, just efficient time management 😁
