Check again, 2:06 - 2:12 clearly shows aquatic objects.
be kind to Stallion... his eyes were watering up when he seen (or should i say "scene" <- sea wut eye did) the brilliance of the sun shining thru the trees. :)

There appear to be plants under the water in the video. That means a plant block and a water block in the same place. That means there's a reasonable possibility of compound blocks.
How else do you get a picture and a wall safe in the same block?

Compound blocks confirmed for A17?
Does a compound block not already exist in the form of the small safe, as it sits inside wooden and brick blocks?

I too never had problem with any game I play. The problem is not mostly on core system, but with fact that most user 1. Do not Reboot occassionally, 2. They run 10 things at a time, 3. They do experiment without understanding or ability to fix it back.
In nutshell , 99% chance is if your Game is having trouble, but all others are able to play it fine, is then it is you not game itself :) .
I haven't had any real trouble myself (knock on wood) but I wouldn't dismiss that 1%. With over 2.5 million copies sold that is over 25,000 people. They can't all screwing up that bad can they?

SPECIAL NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT:

Madmole achieves perfection!

Hi Joel (aka Madmole),

Your latest video was perfect for so many reasons.

First, it was a surprise. Who doesn't love a surprise!

Second, it was almost half an hour long... But I could've watched for hours of course.

And last, it was exciting to watch; I laugh and even had a tear, watching the video... I don't know, it just hit me in the right spot I guess. This game has seen so many changes over the years, but A17 seems like the best by far.

Amazing work on the video, and on the game of course.

Many thanks to you Joel, and the Fun Pimps, for all the wonderful work on my favorite game.

I'm a bit worried about the frame rate. In MM's video you could clearly see substantial drops in the FPS-rate, and I'm assuming MM is using quite a beefy PC.

Or is that just a recording issue with the video? I haven't noticed it other videos though.

At this point I would assume there is still a TON of debug code in the game too. That always destroys performance. More and more of that will probably leave/be deactivated as they get closer to experimental.

He runs his from within their editor, so he sees more lag than we would with equivalent hardware.

While watching the latest episode of Neebs Gaming (I laughed so hard at Thick's adventures), I was thinking that randomly booby-trapped loot containers would be interesting. There are multiple considerations for making sure that such a thing is balanced, but the general idea seems fun.

quite correct and regardless what others may say... unity editor is notorious for hogging resources. :) and he does have a descent computer and we have heard him say a lot of times that he is using the editor and causing that issue.

Lol

Be good if it was lol..... but ya'all need glasses lol :-P

Loved the video.

Near the start you moved time indicator and killed a bunch of zombies?

Floor boards giving out is a nice touch. Would love to see trap doors added.

Will zombies fall though floorboards and can we make them ourselves?

Cool, Waist land looks melted.

In town, sides of road (sidewalks) seem ok but look more like dirt mounds with lines in them rather than sidewalks.

Lighting effects took great in the buildings. Also like how it still looks really dark inside. Hoping to see players able to use both hands. One for a light and the other for a weapon.

Water looks better but still looks like a sheet of glass with an image of water going over it.

Shotguns used to have an area of effect to them. But now act like they are firing bullets rather than shot. They have no spread.

Will shotgun effect be put back in?

Actually, I think it’s a clever use of the DowngradeBlock property. E.g. paintings downgrade to wall safes (sometimes) the same way wood blocks downgrade to wood frames. Which is not to knock it - again, it’s quite clever. And speaking of which...

Does a compound block not already exist in the form of the small safe, as it sits inside wooden and brick blocks?
It’s all smoke and mirrors, my friend. The only part of the wall safe that exists is the door, cleverly positioned to look like there’s a hollow on the other side when there isn’t. That’s why you won’t see an open one, even after they’ve added open versions of other containers.

And as long as I’m bursting bubbles, the sinks are just normal maps with no actual depth. :)
