Navezgane is bigger and as Gronk said the means to having larger Random worlds without shaking is now in there for those that want to mod it.
Confirmed: Promising feature "shaking" removed. Hundreds of gamers left disappointed.

Ronald i wonder if you saw my post but i will ask again we will be able to see our bases from far away like POIs ?

i really wish you add this guys how cool will it be to see your sick base from a far distant
If it was in, it would be in the list at the start of the thread. You can still hope that it is one of the features they held back as a surprise, but then you surely won't get an answer before they decide to reveal them.

This is a player in Korea (South).I often play 7DTD with my friend and it always makes me just like to be in the new world.

Just hope the new version will be released as soon.

Someday, I would like to make the game just like 7DTD.

sending full of respects to the developers who take lots of effort into it. :)

Bests,

Dong-Won Yi

P.S.: and I have a little wish, want to have a just little larger backpack or want to make little larger backpack myself~~
Hi Yi and welcome to the forum. A lot of people here voted for a dynamic backpack solution, maybe THIS is one of the surprise features they keep secret at the moment

Oh Prisma, way to ruin a pun!
Sorry mate. My brain is not able to handle puns. My deepest apologies. ;)

Cheers

If you're playing SP there are admin tools commented out in the xml's with ridiculously high abilities, such as one-shotting concrete blocks.
Or you could do what I do, map an unused mouse button to auto-mine.
Yes...I know about those in SP...but I was hoping for something in MP ...especially for land claims...10 minutes to remove your own land claim is a bit tedious.

The gun modifications will add vast variety--enough, in my opinion, that you are essentially getting different guns.

Distant terrain does not update itself. You can't see player made bases nor can you see alterations to existing POI's. Destroyed POI's still show up as pristine from a distance.

You can call me Ronald if you want. Swapping two letters in people's names isn't the worst thing to be called, NeterPifou. :)

that make sense but it would be cool if that can be added may be in the future Alpha 18 may be

Ahh too bad, haven't played Navezgane since the first month of purchase.
I gave NAV a world (no pun) in A16, haven't played that map in forever.

But I really like all the changes that has been done to it since I last played it. (Alpha 12-ish?)

All good mate. Roland has probably revoked my A17E access for that terrible pun anyway! :playful:

Yeah the changes are good. It's just that I don't play it anymore ^^

Gib biggur RWG!

@Roland

Maybe this has been answered before, but I can't recall.

Weapon mods can be taken on / off, right? And do 1 mod work for all weapons (bullet weapons), e.g silencer can be used on a revolver or rifle?

Speaking of weapons, do we get a thermal night vision weapon sight in A17?

I would imagine that since we see blood gushing from zombies I guess they do produce heat? Someone might want to chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.

It would be awesome to flip the switch to thermal night vision on my Scar during night, and with a silencer! They'll never know what hit em

@faatal,

Another AI question.

Under the old AI flow it seemed like as though the AI preferred to attack the player over immediate threats.

Example: Zed is fighting bear, as soon as you get in notice range, both stop fighting each other and go after player.

I know you've said you made adjustments to prevent players exploiting the way zeds select targets.

In the above example would the 2 creatures continue their fight or do as they seem to now and stop fighting to go after the player?

That's a shame; I suppose they keep it this way to save resources, but I wonder if it would be possible for the distant terrain to update itself at certain intervals, like when it detects little activity on the server, or whenever the server is restarted. Seems like it shouldn't be a problem resource-wise then.

Although in the lore it's generally considered that zombies produce no body heat with characters in a few films claiming they're cold just before they turn this isn't set in stone.

If memory serves a human corpse reaches room temperature after roughly 8-12 hours so it's quite likely that a freshly turned zombie will still have a bit of residual heat left. There's also the fact that movement causes heat even in cold blooded animals so a wandering zombie would likely have a body temperature a degree or two above the surrounding air.

Even if the zombie has a body temperature close to the surrounding environment they should still be able to be seen with thermal imaging, even if it's only the general shape, but it would be nowhere near as distinct as a living person.

I've posted this before but it demonstrates how even a cold blooded animal can be seen with thermal imaging...

I don't think it has as much to do with system resources as it does with priorities. I know they want changes to the environment to be reflected on distant terrain but at the moment there are more important things to work on.

Perishton was not moved my friend... the snow biome is now much larger. :)
MM even stated it in his video here

Yeah, I got the two towns confused.

Sad to lose the two biomes though. The plains was nicer than the desert and offered the most animals to hunt.

Snow biome. Yuck! Nearly impossible to find ores there. Also hard to hunt or do anything in it. Zombies are harder to kill and for same chances of loot as normal zombies. At least give the frozen zombies better loot.

Hoping to at least keep the maple trees.
