My point is, I'd rather be active than to sit through a cutscene.
So true, who would want to just stare at your character sleeping or resting? You play a game to play it, not watch your character sleep.

I also don't like the idea of sleeping. I've had to go through many alphas sitting around my base walking in circles, and now that stealth has been added and I can now do things at night I don't really feel like spending it "sleeping".

I think it's ok to have sleeping or resting as an optional way to regain stamina, cure certain buffs, increase body temp or even slowly regain health; as long as there aren't any consequences to not sleeping at all, I'm fine with it.

The char can be considered sleeping while not logged in, so when you log in you have a well rested buff, and they can set some type of timer to it so people don't just log out and in to get the buff, maybe some time has to pass. Not sure if something like that can be added to a single player game, but I bet it could but, I am with you sleeping is a very bad idea. Also swapping to another character while the other rests is one of the most insane ideas I've ever heard.

So what happens to your main character while it sleeps? Is it impervious to danger? Etc...
...I agree there is a possibility for fun in that (I'm not a curmudgeon like da vag) but the likelihood is... Low. So, no sleeping. =)
I agree it is practically a nil possibility but if it was remotely able to be modded in I would play that mod to have four characters going at the same time in the same world as a community and having to keep the other three safe but also able to move my control to any of them at any time.... That would be fun.

some game have sleeping mechanics that work well for that game, like The long dark or SoD

sleep in 7dtd is meaningless, you have no fatigue, no reason to sleep, and more important sleep steal time to other aspect of the game

if you have to sleep 8 hour a day you can't prepare for the 7 day horde, or you can't go out to scavenge, or you can wake up just to find your base leveled by a random horde

brass catcher

Why not just have a recipe for Steel or if they wanted to keep it more of a rare resource, Aluminum? If ppl really need that much more brass to make ammo, then they are usually high enough to make Steel or maybe add Aluminum smelting.

Why not keep brass as a rare resource?

How much would their actually be around that could be made into casings?

If we go by lore, the 7d2d world just came out of the 3rd WW and then the dead started to raise.

Wouldn't any extra brass production actually be diverted to the military?

Wouldn't it be conceivable that there's a brass shortage and the average person would need to use an alternative?

Just proposing and asking questions/suggestions as to keeping brass more of a rare resource.. not necessarily directed towards you but more of banking off of your post is all.
Well there is many things to do in game: researching, looting, quests etc...

and you know, when you got 44 tourets (as me at base) there isn't enough time to be engaged only in brass search

Anyway it is possible to make brass catcher for special recipe or quests or difficult crafting.

I think that sleeping would be great for SP but may be difficult for MP.

Maybe have like something that wakes the player if there is a noise.

I don't really like being stuck in a room or stuck outside in pitch blackness waiting for the sun to come up because of running zombies.

Can't see anything without a light at night and hard to fight with a torch in your hand. Plus having a light attracts zombies.

Hey Roland. I have been working on a journal for the first seven days from a perspective of a survivor. Would it be ok to post here?

I'm not going to single anyone out in this thread, but I will say this:
I find the attitude of some people disgusting and majorly disrespectful when they say certain updates don't count or acting as such were not delivered or updates. Heck, some are so rude they don't even count the changes done after a version has reached experimental.

To those people who act as though a particular update does not count, I say "How Dare you turn to The Fun Pimps and say their work and effort was worthless?". That is exactly what you say when you decide to ignore changes because they didn't make enough impact for you. Some are so incredibly rude that they don't even credit the work from the time Alpha 16 hit experimental till when 16.4 was released as valid work. There were a lot of changes from the first day Alpha 16 hit the experimental branch to the time 16.4 came out. It is disappointing to me and I do not work for, nor have I done any code for The Fun Pimps.

To The Fun Pimps: please ignore those who would discredit the value of your time and efforts. Thank you again for all your hard work and continued efforts.
Well said good Sir!

Anyone up for a game of Gore: Ultimate Soldier? I heard the people that made it were insane and added chainsaw wielding skeletons.

Seriously though if the bandits could chainsaws as melee weapons it'd be pretty scary, like that one movie.

You didn't hear? All animals, zombies, NPCs and players come with chainsaws for hands. Those bunnies now run AT you.

So we die seconds into the game when we first wake up naked and automatically wipe our brow with our chainsaw hand...

Balance achieved!
