We could make you solve a quadratic equation every time you launch the game?
We already do, everytime we try go harvesting. At what skill level should one switch from using iron to steel to ensure stamina efficiency? :p

 
If Alpha 17 is beta, why is it still called ALPHA 17? :apathy:
It is still 76.2% alpha, but also 23.7% beta and 0.1% after-release-patch :smile-new:

So mostly it should be called alpha, but if you want you can call it belpha to hint at its ambivalence.

And really, my post is 85% serious and only 15% joke. This is the official explanation of MM's remark.

They won't declare a fixed date where they switch instantly from doing alpha to doing beta, they instead will morph slowly from an alphaisch development to betaish refinement over the course of the rest of development until release. Alpha, beta are just labels that don't fit exactly how they develop 7D2D

and I noticed a lot of PIE being used. Too much pie is bad for your health. 2 pies... 4pies. I'm gaining weight just looking at it!
The equation use to use C4K3 instead of PIE but they found that the C4K3 was a lie...

What is the maximum plot size for any farmable item per chunk before frame rate falls to standard human perception limits?

mFR = (w * l * ((angle of item offset mod 90)/pi) * (# of 2d vertical frames) * (pixels per frame)) / graphics card frame rate / 7D2D base coefficient

base coefficient = incredibly large number to keep alphas and betas slow, but manually offsettable to extremely small number to be used at Gold launch to keep plethora of testers (complainers? opinionaters? opinionhaters?) to manageable levels.

I'd almost rather have to solve 2x^2 - 4x - 3. At least I have some control over that. (At least give us an option in the config settings. btw - it would be REALLY NICE if we could set the color as well. Not a red fan...)

And, as Pille discovered, the formula (screenshot) is TFP's new underground tunnel/cavern algorithm. (the last 2 sections were added to smooth road joins and end the bottomless pits.)

so what's about that "hp bar"?
It's big and it's red and it exists in the top center of the screen and it gives us information about when A17 development gets killed.

Currently A17 is a great big snarly monster with lots of scary abilities such as bugs, glitches, memory leaks, and partially done features. The devs will kill it and then we will get to play with its lovely corpse.
