If I'm honest I doubt I'll be a huge fan of the dungeon-crawl POI's myself. It may seems a bit unnatural and forced if done incorrectly.

Have you ever secured a POI and thought to yourself "you know, the best way to make a route to the attic would be by blowing a hole in the cellar". I'd rather a POI looked as though someone had tried to secure it and failed, or even secured it and died inside. Either option would be more immersive than an inexplicable Indiana Jones run through a suburban house.

I'm not going to change anything at this late stage but I just added this to point out that not everyone agrees with everything. I may be wrong and the end result will be as I hope instead of what I expect. I'll find out when A17 is finally released.

Agreed, I wish they would spend resources elsewhere... more regular POI's.. etc. Maybe cool to see the dungeon type once.. but dumb when you see the same one over and over.

Yeah, 1980's play style is not exactly fresh IMO. But, you can always look at it like free loot! Up to the roof, poke a hole in it and head shot the boss back into oblivion (the game) and loot away!

A Min/Max'ers paradise :)

I'm with ya there. Sure the first time will be cool but same as the skyscrapers, only the first time is interesting. Seems like just busy work adding them imo.

I absolutely disagree with everything you have posted.
The fact that you typed out "Nobody asked to remove the gun parts and yet here we are again." Means you are absolutely out of touch with the vast majority of players.

Finding 100's or random gun parts was universally despised. It has been so much longer than you have been around.
Um no, YOU are the one who is absolutely wrong. This game exists outside of this forum. And that is the problem with some people here. Tunnel vision in thinking just because 20 people here don't like something the entire game base doesn't.

I know way more people upset that guns are being simplified (and they are). Finding and upgrading parts gives people something to do. At this stage in the game so many are asking where the content is, where the end level game progression is. Then you cheer the removal of gun parts. You make no sense. What is content to you? Bullet sponge zombies? The simplification of guns, just like the simplification of crafting, is what is bringing on end game in 14 days, NOT the lack of content. It is the content that is being streamlined therefore giving you MUCH less to do in the long run.

Release not in January? Well rip my hopes. Something is still coming up, or its just finishing and fixing stuff?

I like the dungeon style houses, but agree that i'd like to see regular POIs redone also. It would be cool if all random houses had more detail in them and maybe some hidden good loot instead of boss in the end.

This pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter. I'm less concerned about the dungeon-crawl aspect - that can easily be avoided by breaking in through an upstairs window or something - but I'm really not keen on the idea of having "bosses" at the end. It seems to go against the survival aspect of the game. Why would there be a "boss"? And why would it be specifically hanging around at the "end" of a "dungeon" rather than wandering around looking for food like every other zombie is.

The idea of dungeon bosses is just too "gamey" and doesn't seem to fit the survival theme.

You speak the truth, many many PC games are or were ruined because of consoles, the same for console games converted to play on the PC. The compromising done in the name of games is astoundingly stupid, I hate that it has to be done at all and I feel it has really limited creativeness and content because of the time and resources spent to port to console or to PC. To make my point, Osiris:New Dawn recently add a Wheel to the UI, it conveniently looks like all other wheels that are used on many console games. The sad part is the effin excuse Fenix Games came up with to justify it looking like a console UI addon.

It boils down to "penif enby", any console gamer knows the best gaming experience is on PC.

Dammit! Everyone's agreeing with me! I need more controversial opinions :-)
No problem. Just pretend that you are dissatisfied with the game or complain at how long it's taking. After that you get all the controversial you could ever want. ;) lol

What's with the control system? WASD to move? That's been done in pretty much every first-person game ever! Talk about copying your friends homework! Get some originality! I want to use ZINR, you know, because at least it's original.

That's a good way to approach it, say a survivor built a hidden room with an escape route to hide from Zeds & Raiders. Going from the Basement to the Attic just does not feel right. I could see an escape route from the Basement to the outside or an adjacent POI but it should be designed as a survivor would do it. Maybe we can add a new Door that looks like adjacent blocks making it hidden.

I have yet to find a server with 120 min days. I always assumed Day 49 is when things get interesting for vanilla versions. Modders have changed the game so much that progression means everything even when they try to slow it down, and still they focus on blood moons in feeble attempts at increasing difficulty. I try to ignore the posts that whine about difficulty and becoming too easy too fast, it just shows their ignorance for the game as a whole, its like they learned one way to play the game and cannot fathom there is more than one way. I hope TFP doesnt cater to that class of whiners, it would ruin the game for the rest of us.
I am excited for a17, hope it will bring another perspective to gameplay and progression.
Oh I see... Having an opinion is just being a "whiner"? Guess playing the game since it was a blocky Minecraft clone means nothing? I mean, it's not like I care about the development of the game. My main point was cities not being as scary, atmospheric or challenging as they used to be. Iv'e played the game on multiple settings, most of the time with the hardest settings, yes Iv'e played with 60min days, I just prefer longer days.

Try not to assume that someone giving an opinion is just "whining"

Also, there is nothing wrong with mods increasing difficulty and progression, some of us like a slow and insanely hard game.
