I'm confused. Isn't "can of soup" a kind of soup? It's been a while since I've played so perhaps it's been removed...
Thanks for the updates, Roland and Kinyajuu. Kin, always nice to see a developer drop in.

3 types of soup in the vanilla game as loot.
When he said the phrase "No soup for you" I thought of soup nazi from Seinfeld. He wasn't dishing out the slop in cans. It was made from scratch. That is what I call soup.

 
Hehe okay, didn't really think any harm was meant was more not understanding what you were trying to say. I'm, well, a bit socially ... uh.. awkward? As my grandmother would have said, I'm very particular and take things too literally without realizing it. My family gets a lot of chuckles out of pulling my leg. ;)
Yeah, I've worked in several customer facing jobs up until my programming career. Then when I started game dev it kinda goes hand in hand a lot of the times. I try to be a little less aggressive and literal but sometimes I forget myself.

I'm 36 btw. I am actually very jaded but I feel if me saying they are being rude it might, just might, make a small difference in the world. Sometimes people say things they don't mean or sometimes make the situation out to be much worse than it is. The negative people will always be that way, but sometimes people just get caught up in their stuff and forget themselves too.
Sounds good we'll I'll be pulling for ya, loving the ads red dots.

That 4x scope is amazing. I love the zoom and it shows it in the scope as you walk around!

Just to be clear to everyone. We love our game and we want to make the best game we possibly can.
I pushed for removing and replacing the systems for a reason and it's not because I simply wanted to rewrite it. It needed to be done. While some people may not find it exciting, it doesn't make the changes any less needed or any less great for content creation going forward.

All of the thinly veiled insults, mean comments, and talking down on us does nothing but add irritation and stress to the process. Honestly, why do some of you talk so rudely to the folks making a game you like? I honestly don't understand it.

We are people too and are doing the best we can as fast as we can. Don't make the process more painful than it needs to be.

If you love the game, do me a favor and think about this post next time you want to comment about how you think we don't know what we're doing, or that we're off sipping margaritas somewhere, or that we have 10 new people so we should be moving faster.

To those that show trust and support, a massive THANK YOU from me personally.

A football player can run a touchdown but it's much more enjoyable to do when people are cheering you on. :)

Yeh, I noticed that... I hope it's a precursor to jumping small gaps and not simply a collider issue with nests or whatever they were running into.

@MM, what in house terrain editor did you land on? Was it Gaia?

 
I think MM should do a preview vid before the YT crew does one. Nothing against the YT crew but it just seems like the right thing imo. Then give it to them ;)

 
It's pretty substantial. Essentially you guys will be able to customize your weapons in about every aspect. Reload speed, scopes, silencers, range, larger magazines, switch to fully auto, semi auto or single shot, etc. Of course lower quality weapons have less free mod slots, so their customization is more limited.
Madmole, I just wanted to say THANK YOU for removing weapon parts. This is Sooooo much better.

 
like the new terrain, can still see some seems, but it looks soo much better.

Weapon mods are coming along well, you demo'd most of them it seems except the silencer.... hope to see that soon. Any archery mod love?

 
When you're not looking through the scope it should go black. That was a pretty cool effect in the vid but drawing a scope image rather than going black like an optical scope is probably taking up system resources.

I like it. I'm sure it will be in the high end tick boxes.

 
Plans for it for sure, and maybe some work has been done. I just selected a few things that were mostly functional to show today. We're busting ass on it.

are u planning to add Controll room block into the game in a17 ?

 
have to agree on the scope jumping in and out of zoom with the ak. shouldnt do that, acting like it is attached to the slide.

 
We just use a height map, so you can use Gaia or world machine, 3ds, etc to make your height map (or photoshop) and import it in as a raw file. Once its in unity you can edit it with the standard unity editing tools, paint etc.
Will 7days be set up to import custom maps in a17?

This video has made me even more excited for the alpha. I honestly can't wait to get my hands on this, I hope the vehicles become modable too at some point. Would love to take the shovel/bumper thingy off of the front of the motorbike! I know it isn't going to happen, but the bike is gorgeous without that thing on the front of it. (Even if it would be useless for running zombies over without it).

Honestly, great work Joel. I love this game, and have bought it for me, my girlfriend and even my baby sister. Would happily buy it again if I had someone else to play with! hahaha.

P.S. Pleaseeeee bring back the Behemoth in some fashion. I've got a world with 90+ hours on in insane, and none of us have died once. The base is impregnable. My girlfriend would kill me for asking this, as she's scared of the game as it is, but it'd be so enjoyable to have a real threat to the base. Something that can just rip walls apart and charge through.
