Instead of "HP" I would prefer:

"This is the zombies heath points, well its dead so how much health can a dead guy have? But seriously, lets call it Hit Points, but I'm sure you can one shot him, so consider this a 1 Hit point bar."

That does look better but I would like it... Smaller.

With the hp bar in this thread, do I understand it correctly, that we've barely scratched the surface in regards to getting alpha 17 completed? We've only done like 5% of alpha 17 and still have 95% development left?

Naw... I just needed to establish the length of the bar. It will adjust to the proper state here soon. But you should know that some hits are more powerful than others so it isn’t going to decrease at a regular pace. You won’t be able to figure out when by counting “I”s. Otherwise I wouldn’t have done it. Release dates aren’t given.

That does look better but unfortunately there is a strict character limitation and every single character used to make the box would count against that limit and the bar would be two boxes long. Guppy already tried to help me out and it won’t work. I’ll say the same thing now that Ibtold him.

If it’s annoying, ugly, and distracting then it’s the perfect metaphor...

What doesn't make sense is that the letter I is one character. And so is the extended ascii character.

 
Are we at 6% done yet?

How do I get my phone to alert my computer when we are 6% done?

It's not for me, my computer has developed an obsession with A17.

Assume every bar to be one unfinished issue or bug. With lots of people each working on a different issue it would be quite possible that every bar goes white at exactly the same day.

Assume instead that Roland just asks the developers about the general state of development and shows us that answer as a bar. with 100% being the state at the time he created the bars. Then you would have to wait for at least 5 to 10 white bars to get an estimation of the time left. And that estimation would be the second hand impression of a developer estimation that is notoriously inaccurate.

Also assume it means "Not in March...."

 
whew...figured it out. Thanks to Guppy and Beatkidz. Just needed to use one of the question slots instead of the title slot. More character allowance there.
