But you can also loot bullet casings, brass trophies and brass candlesticks directly from zombies which are a renewable supply even with no loot respawn. The brass sources also commonly show up in garbage piles, bins, dumpsters etc. In every 7dtd game I have played in my 1800 hours or so hours my bottleneck to bullet production is always gunpowder (specifically potassium nitrate) and never brass. I always have thousands of surplus brass compared with gunpowder.

Yes, so have food and water bars selectable as an option and everyone is happy. Well, everyone that is apart from the control freaks that want to force everyone to play as they do.
I think that's a great idea. I really just don't like the idea of being forced to have a hunger bar and hydration bar.

P.S. Nice profile pic

so long watch this
What's up with that pain sound lol... It's sounds suggestive...

Roland, you .. you piece of sanity :) Thank you for your effords to keep this thread up. Remember this track ?
Isn't that the one where the song author kept slapping the Let's Play Youtubers with DCMA notices?

I have been thinking about a few things and from some of the other games I have played, I think some could come as a solution for some or a hindrance for others, allow me to say...

1. Backpack Size - There was a heated debate about backpack size and from playing a survival game called Fragmented I do have a type of solution, in that game when you unlocked the ability to make pouches in your inventory they took up 4 squares and when opened gave a varied amount of space, one pouch i found took up 4 squares and gave you 10 extra, sounds like a decent trade off, another game I played with a useful thing we could add is Miscreated, in that depending on the clothing you had on you would add a certain number of slots to fill, so jeans gave 4 slots and cargo shorts gave 6 slots, food for thought.

2. HUD Displays - I always wanted to play with the hunger and hydration on screen, and maybe we could make it a trigger to like F3 almost like the FPS on F8, so people could play with or without it?

3. Separate Bullet Casings - Honestly im all for it, would make looting more of a pain but that is why we scrap and have a forge, maybe the addition of a munitions workbench could be seen down the road as something else to add to our bases?

4. Traps - I have read some and thought of others and im hoping to see, Spring Spike Traps - spikes shoot out from a direction when triggered, Spear Launcher - Same idea as dart trap but you load it with wood spikes, Shrapnel Mine - No need to explain and its not like we dont find scrap metal everywhere in the game.

5. Rain Catcher - Why not let us build one of these and have it require like 10 Cloth, 5 Leather, 5 Short Iron Pipes, Brass or Steel Faucet, then we put the empty jars into it and it fills them over time?

Those are all I have for right now, im sure when the slots change for the guns and bikes that we can mod clothes in game with extra pockets and stuff but these are my ideas, I hope some of them sound good to everyone :)

Everyone take a break for a sec and check this article out, had me dying!

LOL. Almost knowing English can be very funny! My wife always wonders if people (here in Russia) actually KNOW what their T-shirt says. With some, I'd say no. :) I have a Putin T-shirt that I think says "Don't mess with me", but for all I know could say "I messed myself".

Its like being almost sure you are right in a topic, when, maybe not? :)

Well I think we warn Roland out on that topic. ;)

For a moment I thought that Roland WAS the Forum. lol

It is original made ( or existed before ) for the movie 28 days later. It have its own copyrights, pimps moved on and made their original soundtrack, the one we listen now. Part of the industry I guess.

Is this a photo of Rolands gameplay preferences? :)

WAIT a MINUTE! Why does Royals screenshot say Alpha 17???

You got some 'splaining to do sir

I've given my statement on this several times already. Click on my name and go look at my last several recent posts if you want to read my answer to this. If you haven't heard me or understood my point of view by now it just isn't worth it to repeat myself. We can agree to disagree. We see it differently and that is all there is to it. Probably stems from this....
I admit, i didn't read more then the post i answered to. It was all the time i had at the moment. I will do that now.

Let me rephrase. Why are we talking about the HUD rather than the "Power moves for melee combat", the "Weapon Overhaul", and the "Replace gun parts with attachable modifications"? Was this even talked about recently? I just noticed they were added on to the list but I cannot find any mention of them.
Yes, lets talk about that!

Technically i have been waiting for years for a melee combat update by now. And technically, getting another move means we now will have twice as many options with our melee weapons.

I still really hope we get some sort of bash, block or kick as well. And it would be really cool if power moves had different effects for bade and blunt weapons.

I've come around to Roland's point of view on the food/water thing. IRL, I might eat when I'm hungry, but for the most part there are times in the day when I go and eat something. Now, some people, like my wife, will go crazy with hunger if they go much longer without eating, but I can easily skip a meal if I'm distracted.

Thus I decided to add breakfast and dinner to my 7D2D's character schedule, and be done with it. Eat until full, drink until full, and don't bother min-maxing times/percentage of food/drink intake. And it's been a relief! No more constant tracking of some stupid percentages, and the routine makes it harder to forget eating/drinking.

Now, I wouldn't mind a discreet constant indicator on screen, such as the color bars some people have made mock ups of. It wouldn't break immersion for me.

Heat/cold, on the other hand, I'd really like on screen. I'm never not aware of whether I'm hot or cold IRL. It bothers the hell out of me, and it bothers me a lot in the game as well. :) Warnings when the temps are around 40F? Hell, if the temp goes below 72 or above 75, I'm instantly aware of it! Still, it should be a discreet color thing, such as blue to green to red dot, instead of a number or a gauge.

And, yeah, I realize people might have other experience towards hunger, thirst or temperature. That's why I'm fine with a discreet indicator. The fact that the game let my character face temperatures that would have made me very uncomfortable without a sign *breaks* immersion, so I assume the same would be true for thirst/hunger for other people.

It increases immersion for me because I do not not have such indicators hovering in front of my face in real life so removing them from being in front of my face in the game makes it come a bit closer to feeling like real life and the fewer indicators on the screen the more the immersive feeling when viewing the world.
But that's just me. If seeing status bars and digital clocks and hotbar inventory slots and upgrade and downgrade arrows and stealth eyeballs don't act as constant reminders that you are playing a video game then good for you. I'm not saying I ever forget I'm playing a video game but the the experience feels more lifelike when those displays are invisible. For me.

Have you tried using f7, that's incredibly immersive!

Maybe I should try F7 again. The last time I tried it you couldn’t interact with things like your hotbar or containers. All F7 was good for was running around or taking pictures.

I play with an invisible HUD mod that is exactly like F7 except that you can actually play the game. But maybe it’s changed since then.

No need to try F7. You still can't interact with anything.
