Dedicated Servers need Epic installed :/

man...I got this on Steam, I don't want Epic. I get that you want your game to work on all the services, but don't lock my server out because I don't want to install another thing on my server just for authentication. This should have been an option in the config file to lock out if we don't want it.

If you are getting a bunch of EOS errors and can't log into your dedicated server because "it's not started yet", install Epic on your server and it all will work :/

Everything is cool after that, so I wanted to come back after chilling out a bit (users are losers (; ).

could we maybe make EOS an option in the "disabled protocols" section of the server config? I don't know the intricacies of it all

Server list uses EoS. This is because basically no one else support cross-platform play like Epic does.

Epic is not required to be installed. You may need to install some certificates if you have an obsolete OS, but that is it.

ok, then what certs are needed for it? I'm running it on server 2022, which didn't have an issue before this version came out, so something changed.

edit: nvm, I just made the server non-public, maybe that's how I had it before...been a while since I looked at the config file on the old setup and I wiped it out without looking at it when I put the new one on. If someone actually has the right answer, then cool, I'm curious.

It is detailed in the Support FAQ Thread.

Dedicated Server Does Not Appear in List, or is Unable to Connect to EoS
