Day 1 btw… Are we serious? That shouldn’t be there.

Why? It's just a schematic, and it's not like you can use it until you have at least a minibike.

It's also not like it's a super good game breaking item. It's a decent QoL, that's it.
I’ve been playing since version 2.0 up until now, and I’ve had several saves. Even in the late game, playing with traders, I couldn’t find or buy this blueprint. But here, I barely start the game and can buy it for just 2,400 which is ridiculous. It’s not even hard to get that much money. The mini bike with this mod is as fast as a motorcycle. Sure, it takes 20 books to craft it, but the fact that I can buy it so cheaply on the first day made me immediately lose interest in playing.

I would prefer if traders didn’t sell such items. I played for a while without them, then came back to the game with them, and I’m disappointed once again. I’d rather explore and find these items myself. I don’t like that I have the option to buy them. Sure, I don’t have to, but the very fact that I can has already annoyed me enough.

Traders completely ruin and speed up the gameplay.

You're going to be really mad when you can buy a crucible on day 4, then.

Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. None of the schematics you can get are particularly meaningful now. It's not like you're finding the steel club blueprint on day 1 like used to be possible.

If you don't like traders, good news. 3.0 will let you turn them off. I'll probably do that myself.

It’s not that I don’t like playing with traders, it’s just that it bothers me what kind of items they sell and how cheap they are. I actually enjoy doing quests the rewards are better now than they used to be. I remember you could get level 6 armor and weapons as quest rewards, and I’m glad they nerfed that.

Sometimes it can feel a bit underwhelming when, for a level 6 infestation, the best reward you can pick is something like 4 glue, but I still prefer that over things being too overpowered. And since these quests take place in POIs, you end up finding plenty of loot there anyway just by doing them.

Apparently there’s going to be an option to nerf trader inventories, so I hope I won’t see these kinds of items too early in the game anymore or at least not at those prices.

Here here, I also support that.

Maybe more dukes/less items? If you get dukes, and the trader doesn't have the items you most want, you have to keep questing. Just a thought.

True.

As a dedicated crafter, I have always hated it that everyone and their brother can upgrade their equipment/armor/weapons as fast or faster than a crafter can, just by hitting a trader. The only thing that keeps crafting alive (if only just barely), is the lvl 6 restrictions on most things, but even being able to buy/be given lvl 5 stuff is prettly bad.

I don't think schematics need to be that expensive. You still have to be able to craft the items and I think the supercharger needs forged steel, so you're not doing it right away anyhow. Besides, all that does is speed up your vehicle. It doesn't make you stronger or anything.

10 forged steel isn’t a big deal. In my opinion, the trader sells too many items, which takes away some of the fun of exploring and finding things yourself. Why should I craft or find something when the trader sells items I can’t even make, or things that should only appear in the late game? The balance of what we can buy is off.

Why am I even collecting spear books if the trader will soon be selling an iron spear at level 4, and I’m missing a lot of books anyway to craft it? I can’t craft it myself at all until level 6. So I’m collecting books just to craft level 6 items, and the difference between level 5 and 6 isn’t that big. The trader’s items should scale better with level. Maybe in the future we’ll get that legendary items, which will actually matter. Loot is already predictable, and the trader just makes the whole thing less fun.

I remember that I had a save where on day 60, with a game stage around 500, I still didn’t have this modification. Maybe it was just luck, but in my opinion the price is still too low for a modification that significantly affects vehicle speed.

Besides, Rekt seems to specialize in being annoying and selling food. We simply have a trader who specializes in vehicles, and it makes sense that everyone sells what they specialize in.

Vehicle charger mode doesnt even give extra top speed lets begin with! Tested vehicles without and with this mod and they moved with same speed! Also in vehicle window the top speed doesnt even changes now (was working in older versions)

How? You said it yourself: you don't have to buy it. Someone else will not want to look in every nook and cranny in the game to find one and prefer to purchase it from a trader. So, who should TFP cater to? You or them?

As for it being "late game," I'd consider that foreshadowing same as the crucible. A "hey, look what you have to look forward to" kind of thing.

I think it still makes a big difference you can feel it just from driving. Vehicles definitely shouldn’t be too fast. I played with some mods for supercars where I was going too fast and ended up crashing into a car on the road that I only noticed afterward.

Well thats optimisation problems + i didnt saw speed difference myself 🤷‍♂️
If vehicles would became at least 50% faster - would be much better (and minibike could get at least +2 speed)

The very fact that I even have the option to buy them is just irritating. I don’t have to, but it’s like mind control, because I’m supposed to be searching for them or collecting books and schematics myself, and I don’t feel like doing it when I see them available for purchase. I’m definitely not the only one who feels this way, so TFP certainly won’t be pleasing only me. Maybe 3.0 will change that, I hope, and everyone will be happy.

I think I see where you're coming from. It could show up little later in vendor inventory and still act as foreshadowing. In fact, I thought A21's crafting/vendor purchase & reward/exploration balance was pretty good in that regard. You could buy (or be surprised to find) only slightly higher level gear, etc. than you could craft and you were so close to crafting it yourself, it was only a question of patience whether or not you'd buy it instead.

The option coming in 3.0 that will be perfect for you will be max trader tier. I have mine set to tier one so traders won’t sell anything above brown tier. I like to buy the weapons at brown tier to scrap them for parts so I can craft my own.

And i made traders sell only 1 tier gear

That’s great, thanks for the info.😁
