You can change the xml files. Back in a20 I increased the legendary drop rate so my brother could have a chance to use porkins. In A21 the only edit I did was to give two class books for the starter quest. removing laser weapons and demons seems very involved though.

It isn't really that hard, just go through the xml and remove the demons from the spawners and the laser weapons from the loot table. There will be bugs, but you can work through them if you put the time in. The xml files are long and can take a while to get through, search for keywords and use VSCode, if you can.

I took the Demons out of Alpha 20 Darkness Falls (my friends wanted more hordes with no demons).

Suggestion: Ink Recipes

I noticed the ink recipes seem a bit 'odd'.  Some require 2 ingredients and others 3 ingredients, even the same ingredients plus another to make one unit of ink, but the quantities vary. I would propose to normalize the recipes such that they all require 36 total ingredients to make (half with a chem station).

Example:

-Blueberries+tomato+grass (12/6 each)

-tomato+grass (18/9 each)

Possible recipe to consider:

-goldenrod+chrysanthemum+grass (18/9 each)

-I acknowledge this may make ink too easy to obtain early game due to the abundance of each ingredient...so increased cost

 
I feel like I'm being a complete dingus, but where are the Scouts?  I've checked 4 different Trader compounds and can't find them anywhere.  Do I need to trigger them somehow?  I'm on Day 26 now and I thought maybe after doing a few Open Trade Routes they might show up, but nope.  Any help appreciated.

hm. They should be there from day 1, and they have the floating trader icon so they're hard to miss.

I haven't been to all the traders in B28 yet, but in the past few updates, they've been something like this:

Rekt's: Inside the main building, ground floor, near the outer wall on the right side.

Jen's: First tent to the right of the right main entrance.

Hugh's: Outdoors, right side, near the back wall and helipad.

Bob's: Outdoors, right by the helipad.

Joel's: Room by the outer wall, right corner corner of the compound by the front gate.

I don't know if Caitlin has a scout still, but I would guess so (maybe where she was in A20 when it was Jen's compound; inside the tall building on the ... second floor or so).

I don't think you'd have overlooked all of them, so maybe there's something wrong with your install.

Go to the map screen while in the trader. If you don't see two trader icons your install is bugged. This happened to Guns Nerds and Steel for his DF playthrough as the scout in Hugh's disappeared when he updated, as she moved from behind Hugh's counter to her new spot outside. From my experience Similar is correct on the scout locations.

 
Is there an easy way to host a server and connect with friends? I have made a few maps with my friends and 2 situations happened. first time we made a map we connected right away. but the next day we logged on to play we couldn't connect to each others map. Any help is appreciated.

does the mod usually hang up during UI load? or is it just taking a really long time?, also task manager shows 100% computer usage during this time as well

How to disable switching to "shift+№"?
It is very uncomfortable. It interferes with running and quick switching.

 
So, my stomach rumbles non-stop, so does my mates and even after we both die and respawn, it happens non-stop. Any idea what's causing this?

You should be able to change keybindings in the game menu.

 
Hey Khaine, I was doing the opening trader routes on the Super City map, and at Rekts location, a bunch of sleeper military, and hazmat zombies were there and there was no Rekt. Is that some kind of glitch, or is that supposed to happen? I restarted the game after killing all the zombies, however, Rekt still wont spawn.

@uppercase I experienced the same thing. I returned back to the trader that gave me the quest and they completed it and gave me xp.

So, you can finish the quest, instead of cancelling or something.

I think it is pretty cool. Some traders that you get sent to might be overrun. I imagine that would be about how it would be in a real zombie situation.

@KhaineGB is there a way to obtain a helicopter? I have been looking in the traders (without success). Don't make me use gyros ;)

You do lose food after dying. Only other time i've seen that is with the vitamins buff, but can't see why it happens.
