Darkness Falls: They mostly come out at night...

If you generated the map then look in your generated worlds folder for the map in question.  There will be a text file in the folder called prefabs.  Open that file and you can see what POI's were generated without having to go all over the map.  The listing also gives you the coordinates of the POI on the map.  The path to the generated worlds folder is as follows (Windows 10)    Users\username\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\GeneratedWorlds\Mapname.  You will need to set your view in file explorer to "show hidden items" in order to see the appdata folder.  If you want to look for a particular POI in the Prefab list then use ctrl F and this will open a search dialogue box.  Type in the name of the prefab and then it will take you to the first one on the list.  I use this to verify that the Research Facility gets generated in every map I create.  Hint:  for a  list of darkness falls prefabs just type "DF" and then press enter.  It will show you all the Darkness Falls prefabs.

 
I started a darkness falls server last night and some of my users are having an issue with loggin in.  I however am having NO issue logging into my server. Yes it is hosted by me and no i do not connect via localhost i connect like all other users connect.

Hello, I need help.  I am playing on a PvP server of Darkness falls and I mastered two classes, but I die a lot.  What I noticed is the mastery is now gone for both classes and I can only have the first two perks of each class unlocked even though I unlocked them all.  Is this a punishment for death cause there is literally nothing I can do to get my mastery back for either classes cause I can't unlock the quests again, so what do I do?  Does this wear off?  Will I ever be able to get mastery in my classes again?
Yes, death penalty lower all.

When you wait until the red skull on the left side is gone, you should have your mastery back.

 
i was playing on a server running alpha 20.4 with some friends when i got a error saying "NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object" after which i wasnt able to interact with anything, so i restarted my game, and now i get stuck on creating character every time i attempt to join. i have tried everything from restarting my pc to uninstalling and deleting 7 days from my pc and redownloading and reinstalling the game and mod. anyone got any ideas of how to fix this?

Death penalty lowers most stats by 1, so mastery is disabled while the death penalty is active.

Were they EVER able to connect?

What do you like to do? Personally I'd probably go scavenger or mechanic, but I like quests, so scav would be more rewards and mechanic will let me make vehicle mods to do quests faster due to less time travelling.

 
KhaineGB, thanks for taking the time to respond. I enjoy questing but I have also been dying relatively frequently lately. Whenever I get a couple ferals in my face it usually means one thing.  So I was hoping that  security would let me up armor myself without killing my movement speed.  However, better rewards may make it easier to get better quality weapons(etc) to stop the ferals.  Something to consider. Thanks for your input.

Depend, on SP i would suggest Labor class.

This will free some perkpoint from book or you allready spend , and let you build better forge's -> Steel -> titanium.

Then you should look what the class give bonus about weapon/tool crafting.

When you prefer rifle/bow over mashineguns, look at hunter.

Same for mellee weapons, check which class give crafting boni at the weapon's you like to use.

A special thing you might don't have on the radar are the survivalist. You maybe notice you don't have a clock outside the shop. Survivalist can build a watch mod, which show you the time anywhere. But the other things about survivalist are not that important.

But at the end, you prolly will learn all classes anyway on SP (and the most at MP).

At first i suggest you take a look at Youtube and check out snowbee's video's about DF. He give out some real useful beginning hints.

But you are right feral's are a pain, special when you died alot and don't got many max. HP/Stamina anymore.

You should stop investigate POI, go exploring and concentrate to regain some max. HP back, drink a tea/coffee/beer or better if you don't have the well drink buff anymore. Check the food automat's they often sell tea if you can't made them self.

Check the scout's they sell vitamin, these raise wellness too.

You should get hand on some NiCd-Battery mods, you can install these at most weapon's, they electroshock the target, and when they are shocked they can't hit you (You need science crafting 3).

Together with a fast hiting weapon (i wouldn't suggest sledgehammers 🙂 ) they are stuned after a few hit's from you and then you can smack them well without much danger.

Security is nice, but you can't escape from a feral on ground.

Security just let you hit faster and get less stamina penalty but you don't run faster.

Iron/steel armor slow you down and you can't compensate that, maybe with high performance running shoes.

Armor Specialist does reduce the movement penalty also. So you do run faster when wearing armor than you would without having skilled that perk.

Faster yes, outrun a feral, prolly not. Special not when you use Iron/steel armor.

I wouldn't recommend Leather and Military is a pain to craft.

Once you get Titanium armor you are on light armor and run faster.

My favoured was Iron/steel armor, hunting knife + NiCd battery, Life leech (bladed perk,+2HP each swing hit) and i don't got problems with ferals (anymore).

Pain tolerance is nice for the damage reduction and stun immunity

We updated to DF4.03 and Alpha20.4, our old map doesn't work anymore. Now we wanted DF4.02 back, and we can't find it anywhere. That really sucks.

So we are forced to start over again -.-

(somebody said the old map can be used with 4.03, but it don't)

My goal/expectation is not to outrun ferals. My current situation is that due to the number of times I have died (sigh) my wellness is never much greater than health nut minimum: I am drinking apple/orange juice. So as soon as I get hit by a zombie, especially a feral, I am near death. I was hoping to be able to get more resilience by selecting security. Your comments have also made me consider scavenger as my third choice. Maybe I need to focus now on getting these two classes as I have sufficient supplies to make two class books.

Yeah. But its still DF4.03.

When we join our server with A20.3 and DF4.03 we really can't play together. A friend of mine can add me to group ingame, i'm in his group, but hes not with me.

He can share quests, i can't (cause i'm "solo").

And with A20.4, we can't play our map.

So we need DF 4.02 back, but can't get it

Because I have to update the git where the mod is hosted.

That's why.

If I don't do that, I have to mess about with launcher config files and bug sphereii to maintain multiple versions.

Ok, 20.4 is in stable now, so Darkness Falls V4.03 is now released!

Patch notes are literally "Updated the mod to work with 20.4" and that's it. Folks running the dev build said saves transfered from 4.02 to 4.03 with no problems. Compo Pack stuff will come later after we've curated the list, so it'll be like 4.03A or something.

Hi there! 

I have been enjoying your Mod Khaine!

But there is one very strange coincidence ever since i got the mod installed.

Me and my friends been enjoying playing through hamachi 7 days to die, And ever since we started playing your mod. We started experiencing latency spikes. That can last for more than 5 seconds. Our hamachi reports Timed out issues...  and this has been happening ever since we installed Darkness Falls. And now this lag spike issue has even persist playing through steam servers aswell. 

This is a big coincidence that it started ever since we installed Darkness falls... Been a full week now and we're still experiencing this issue in all our games now.

Have your file been tagged with a virus?

Yes and it's going to take a while
On the CP topic, have you read some of the posts since it's release? If so, do you plan on removing the POI's created by MichaelL.Apparently permission was not given for his POI's to be included in CP, but they were left in and Stallionsden has so far refused to remove them. As much as i want to play DF with CP for all the extra cool POI's.. i can not in good conscience play a pack that includes someone's work who did not give permission for it to be used.
