Darkness Falls: They mostly come out at night...

Got some requests...

  1. Can we mix and match power armor and rad suit stuff to get the protection please?
  2. Flamethrowers are cool but useless --- they really need some love. Can't shoot them through bars without hurting yourself and their range needs to be like 3x as far with. More damage would help as well.
  3. Stun batons --- don't get any blunt weapon bonuses. I get its a science thing but its a baton...a fancy name for a bat. :D
  4. I think Automatic rifles and rifles...basically the same thing. Am I on base here? Not sure if this is the thing or not the game. Automatic weapons would be the SMGs and autopistols. I can see the M60 being its own deal.

The clipping issue is actually vanilla, and yeah, apparently they can spawn ANYWHERE now.
Yes, the wolf is a little buggy. I know sphereii has been working on the AI, and we're working on fixing up some linux issues too.
Power armor and Hazmat suits should be mixable already. Same with the Radiation Ready mods, hazmat and power armor.
Flamethrowers are fine. They work like an auger. It's the only way I could make it work other than spitting molotovs, which just looks daft. It's got a 10 block range.
I actually thought stun batons DID count as blunt already. Will check that.
No, they're not the same. One is "hold trigger and gun goes brrr" while the other is single shot per left click. Autos are good for room clearance, rifles are better for stealth/sniping.

That's why the AR/AK/M4A1/M60 are all auto.

Cat rescue I help at has some slight issues. Basically the owner isn't well, there's cats who need transporting, only us and the owner actually have cars.

So right now, i'm helping get cats to/from vets, transporting cat litter, food, etc.

If I seem snappy or irritable, i'm not. I'm just tired. Please don't take it personally. I may also not be around much to answer questions for the next couple of days.

Great mod, my friends and I are really enjoying it.

We've run into a bug where the trader inventory becomes inaccessible. After selecting the check inventory option, the camera locks onto the trader, and their inventory is not displayed. Restarting fixes the camera locking, but the initial bug persists. This issue seems to consistently happen to traders/captains after they die and respawn. Original traders work fine.
Also, the HP of the respawned entities differ from those of the original ones. Quests still work fine, though.

 
@KhaineGB I saw that youtube video of yours explaining an install 




In the comments you mention to install for 19.2 not 19.1. I just went through steam for 7 days 2 die and in the betas I have 19.1 as the max. So what do I do?

I am on open beta by default on steam.

So got 19.2. Downloaded from the link you gave on YT.

Is there a how to somewhere for farming? Placed the irrigation pump over water, added irrigation pipe next to plants but no growth. Looking for a link to instructions. Thank you so much to whoever bothers to reply :)

I used four pumps, but I really don't know if it makes any difference to use four or just one.

Dont keep the pump near plants.

The plants will still check for water, so they'll eat the water, which stops the pump working. Keep your pump and water source AT LEAST 5 blocks away from the closest plant.

Hi!

Got this bug. Its a bug where you can place a block early on and then when time goes by for some reason the chunk gets corrupted or changed. Meaning if you re-model or remove that block you can not place a new block in its place.

There was repairchunkdensity[fix] to fix this from console however you need to get coordinates for it too yes?

Can someone walk-through how to properly fix these blocks (in my example there are 3 corrupted blocks)

Hey so setting up  a dedicated server. In the XML theres a place to put the map seed. Now i cant find the seed for DF and when i alaunch the server it gives an error for the map seed. any help?

 
@KhaineGB I’m really enjoying this mod. It makes vanilla look lame by comparison. I had a few questions (sorry if they’ve been answered before, I tried searching and the FAQ but haven’t found answers.

1. Is the quality of looted weapons based upon your skill with that type of weapon? I’m on Day 14 and I’ve already looted a steel club. My blunt weapons skill is 60ish so I was wondering if that played a factor. Apparently with my classes I can’t forge steel until level 50 but I’ve already found the aforementioned club and several steel tools and multiple copies of the steel tool schematics (first was at day 4). Game stage 50 and level 37 at Day 14, with default XP settings and the quality of loot I’m finding seems weird, I’m not sure if I’m just lucky or if it’s intended. I don’t have any points in the loot perks other than what’s given to you for completing Scavenger class quest.

2. Has the respec potion been removed? Just curious because I put points into things that ended up being wasted because I found better loot than I can craft almost immediately afterward and would like to put the points into something more useful, but with the learn by doing, classes and the way perks have been changed I’m not sure if it’s possible to respec like in vanilla.

Other than those questions I’m in love with the mod. TFP should hire you to help finish the game because you’ve fixed a lot of the issues with vanilla already. Great job!

I've legit never seen that bug before. I assume repairchunkdensity works for the chunk you're in? If not, you can get the co-ords from the map screen.

I assume you mean you want to use a DF map? If so, you'd replace navezgane with the name of the map and leave seed blank.

I have a question. Mining XP Reduction is deleted in A19.2 DF?

Yes. TFP said they're gonna do that eventually anyways, so figured i'd do it now.

1) It's based on gamestage and lucky looter. However, I DID add the ability to get steel stuff earlier than vanilla if you get lucky because I hated that you could go into a shotgun messiah on day 2 and get utter crap. I at least wanted there to be a CHANCE to get something.

Scavenger also increases loot gamestage IIRC.

2) Yes, because it breaks characters.

And sorry for the delay in getting back to folks. Still very busy helping out at the rescue, so i'm either there or asleep atm. :D

Anyone have any idea how snare / chicken coop works? My coops work once, then nothing. As for the snares, most of them are just disappearing without even a single harvest. I was able to have one or two trigger inside enclosed area (still count as outdoor) then nothing. It is [SIZE=15.68px]frustrating[/SIZE].
