PC current best pregen map opinion

I’m liking the 8K1. Main base in forest right in center of map. Easy distances to my outposts in other biomes. Plenty big for exploring.

 
Agree 8k1 or 6k1. I like work base in center of world of Forrest.. I don't like the k4 of strips,  Nav with only one of each trader and a lot of un filled space is next least favorite 

 
Depends on what you're after forbthe most part.

8k 1 has served me nicely with being centralized with the forest biome. However, if I wasn't concerned with stability in the wasteland city, then 8k 2 wouldn't have been a bad option as a wasteland home base would be pretty good.

On multiplayer and another game, I'm using 8k 3 and it's been good for natural progression. Starting in the NE corner, I've relocated counter clockwise to the Snow Biome and have declared the Higashi Pharmaceutical tower as my permanent base. Loving it so damn much.

I tried Navezgane for a short period and absolutely hated it. On Legacy it was a great starting map for new players, yet despite the additional size increase to 6k over 4k, and various new pois and towns, the overall structure is too spaced out to be good. Mostly because Navezgane towns are an absolute joke in comparison to random gen/pregen maps.

Haven't tried the 4th map in each size as the linear design doesn't interest me any. If anything, makes me recoil quicker lol.

And 4k maps, I won't even bother. Far too small after having experienced 8k (and one game on the 6k1 which was also a good option). 

 
I’ll save navezgene for the story and once we get RWG will anyone still go with the pregens? Day 370somethin on my first map and trying to not start another until RWG is added.

 
Don't know it off the top of my head unfortunately, and at work lol.

Have you seen the map before? Oh good, I can upload it lol. The Snow town with the Higashi Pharmaceutical tower is the NE snow town, just under Wasteland. But the location for me is centralized enough for my preference.

Map was from Skippys Discord, the Xs are Traders.

It would make sense that the story would be on Navezgane, but not sure if that's set in stone as progression changes none from either map choice. Long as Dukes Casino spawns in the map anyway lol.

Random Gen will definitely be the way to go. The simple fact that towns/cities are structured far more better now makes it almost a no brainer. Navezgane never upgraded, and what was once more structured towns has become really sad overall. Imo anyway.

I'll return to Pregen when I have something in mind for a set run and require a certain poi. Since we don't have the ability to open a menu and just find it. 

 
i miss finding the settlements, those were always fun to build a base in, mainly because they was really easy to defend.

I’m hoping I can keep the story out of RWG. Honestly I’m fine with no story and no bandits. Have a story map and add it to the pregens. I’d prefer it off or at least the ability to turn it off for RWG.

 
I feel like the story won't be very deep and all maps will have it. Picturing not much depth like state of decay 2 story that was not really important or matter much just a way to move on to next map VS state of decay that ended the play through and you paid attention to
