I know many people have in the past but I never felt the need to take the extra time until this version of the game. I bet more people will be chopping up nests than ever did before. The extra 2 feathers per nest makes a difference that never really was needed or noticed in the past.

It’s a habitual thing for me now and I never did it before. :)

I always did, since I never play with loot respawn, and don't want to check an empty nest a second time.

My respawn is default so....30 days? I'll chop. By day 30 I'll be using plastic for the fletching anyway.

 
To some extent nests are more rare, because it's harder to find them, especially with lower amounts of feathers and eggs in them.

On the other hand, you can encounter two next to each other. RNGeesus is generous sometimes ;)
