PC Crash every 20 min to 50 mins

I have been using a workaround I discovered to not be affected by the md5 error since tall can't seem to figure out that it is caused by the game save becoming corrupt due to it crashing during an autosave.. an easy fix to this is allowing manual saves. This would not only resolve the countless players you are losing due to this glitch but would also fix majority of the crashing that occurs. Once my world got over 50mbs it began crashing very frequently.. and now that it is well over 100mbs it crashes almost every 20mins.. I shouldn't have to let an md5 occur to be able to play the game.. I also shouldn't have to begin a new world and start over without a major update being done that requires me to do so... since you all cannot seem to fix the game.. you must take a different approach by altering get the autosave option to a manual save option.. I read on one of the threads that the reason you haven't done this is because you would have to alter the games core code and ensure Microsoft would be OK with it. Well again since you all can't seem to fix it please make this change or I will stop playing and tell others to not waste their time on a broken game.

It is a great concept but it is very much broken... I do not own a different game that crashes at all the way this one does.. fix it or I'm out and will not purchase any more of your products.

Hi Clintwood10,

The community has suggested manual saves in the past, but as mentioned in the MD5 confirmed bug report post, changing how the game saves would involve going into the core code of the game to change it and although it may not seem like it, working to remove the MD5 triggers is quicker than going back into the core code to change save mechanics. We would then likely not be able to remove it after the MD5 errors are fixed which would change the design and intended gameplay of the game.

I understand the frustration this issue is causing players and the team are still investigating the issue that is causing the game to crash frequently in older games. The team want players to be able to play without the MD5 error effecting gameplay or players using the workarounds regularly to avoid them. I know this is not ideal for players and can be disheartening for all of those effected. While it may not be a great comfort to those who have just expirenced an MD5, the analytics system the team put in place to track the MD5 errors has show previous patches have greatly reduced the number of MD5s expirenced and while it may not feel like it, progress it being made. While not mentioned in patch notes, each patch often contains fixes that work towards the MD5 being reduced and eradicated.

I will however pass your feedback on to the team.

As this is not really a bug report, I'm going to move this to general discussion.

Mine only crashes when online and with 3 or more people. I am thinking it is my internet than the game.
could you guys offer the name of the console when you report bugs or issues , simply sating " my game crashed too " doesn't help if we don't know what console your on im guessing you guys are on the xb1 , i primarily play 7d2d on PS4 , but i own both consoles and the Xbox is crashing more frequently , i just notice that a lot of people will chime in on a bug post or a post about an issue of some sort and they all fail to mention what console they are playing the game on ,so if you could in the future simply ad the words PS4 or XB1 thank you

Agree. I see pc users in console forums but not many the other way. Im on xb1 private no run game just me day 38 or so not much of a base yet... But no probs so far. 1 crash sunday while on title screen i watched 🏈 for 3 hours then started my game and 30 minutes in crash. But started up right back for 2 hours of play no problem. Maybe too many random hordes. They might need to fix the "heat" thing on console a bit. And too many dogs.

i have noticed large hordes spawning far away from me and the only way i notice it is they will render the area around them so i look off in the distant terrain and see a huge chunks rendered and when i look that direction my frame rate drops , so ill travel to said location to find 30 plus Z's all stuck on a wall or large rock or jumping up and down , and have to kill them all to restore my normal frame rate , could they have it despawn the roaming horde when they are far enough away and respawn them some where closer ?
