Craft magazines, fast plant growth, less wasteland rubble and more (updated for 1.0)

Happy new year to you as well.

ok on to my question.

Ive followed all the install instructions both on this forum and many others and for some reason cannot get the mods to work.

Any ideas as to how to make them work would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I just want to explain a few things for those who are using the EXP/Skill points mod (thanks a million for this mod, by the way).

It isn't explicitly stated exactly how customizing the .xml file works.

So, in case everyone was wondering, for the EXP/Skill points mod you have this line in the progression.xml (within the mod, don't touch the main game .xml):

<set xpath="/progression/level/@exp_to_level">1000</set>

The DEFAULT for this is 10,000. And the EXP to level change only works immediately if you decrease the above number from where it was when you last loaded the game. If you increase this number, you'll have to wait until you level up again to see the changes.

The mod sets it at 1,000 - which means you require only 10% your usual EXP to level up. At level 65 this bought my EXP to level from somewhere around 170k to somewhere around 17k. If you download this mod on an existing save at a high level, I highly suggest setting it somewhere closer to 10,000 (such as 9,000) and quitting/lowering the number/reloading the game until you get exactly where you want to be.

*UPDATE*

I apologize for being so late with this, but I haven't really been paying attention to the game lately.

The location of the mods directory has changed, so here are some instructions on where to put the mods directory.

*NOTE*

For me, it seems the game auto moved my mods to the correct directory, so be sure to check if the game did the same to you.

Anyways,

Step 1 go to the following location:

C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\

zZZMU4h.jpg

Step 2 Look for a directory called Mods

Step 3 If there is no directory, create a directory called Mods

Step 4 Copy all of the mod files to that directory.

Step 5 Each mod can be in its own directory (see image below)

Last step is the most important - Have Fun!

Hey there Pahbi, great ideas here. I was wondering if I can download these for multiplayer and are they server side only?

I honestly don't know, I play single player so thats where I use them.

I will research it and get back to you.  :)

------------------------ Edit ----------------------------------

So I did a quick peek and this is what I found out, if I'm wrong please someone chime in and give the correct info.

Short Answer:  All of my modlets are xml xpath only, so you they are installable single player or multiplayer, but for multiplayer, the admin of the 7DTD server would have to install them on the server.

Longer Answer:

1.  If your just playing single player, you just put the modlet into the Mods directory and it will work just fine.

2.  If you want to install modlets on your 7DTD server, you need to open the modlet and look at the folders.

           *  If there is only a CONFIG folder with xpath xml files, you can install that on your server, and anyone playing on your server will

              be using that modlet.

           *  If there are other resources in the modlet like icons or artwork, you still install the modlet as usual on your server,

but players who want to play on your server will have to manually install that modlet on their computer.

Hey just a question of curiosity here. Both myself and my mate have your mod installed, yet playing multiplayer together it does not seem to work for either of us. Do we need to have values set the same or is it not working?

Mod is being recognized and ran in game however values aren't changing

Sorry its the XP mod only we are using

Updated for A21, these seem to work, however, every mod needed xml version updates.

I recommend re-downloading and re-extracting any of these mods currently in use.

Collecting books is already getting on my nerves, I think the next mod is going to be to add a recipe to make books from paper, leather and glue.

Hi Pahbi, great modlets! I've just got this one concern that my server flagged:

2023-06-19T07:57:09 1.173 INF [MODS] Trying to load from folder: 'addAcid'
2023-06-19T07:57:09 1.177 WRN [MODS] addAcid/ModInfo.xml in legacy format. Please consider upgrading to V2 for future compatibility.
2023-06-19T07:57:09 1.182 INF [MODS] Loaded Mod: Add Acid (1.0)
2023-06-19T07:57:09 1.182 INF [MODS] Trying to load from folder: 'addSewingKit'
2023-06-19T07:57:09 1.182 WRN [MODS] addSewingKit/ModInfo.xml in legacy format. Please consider upgrading to V2 for future compatibility.
2023-06-19T07:57:09 1.182 INF [MODS] Loaded Mod: Add SewingKit (1.0)

Is there any way I can update the .xml format myself? Or is it something on your radar to get around to soon?

I noticed that warning the first time I started up A21.

After some poking around I believe I solved the problem, but its late, so I will update all the mods tomorrow.
