PC Console needs more communication with the devs

Hey survivors!,

I feel like the communication between the console players compared to the amount of communication the PC players are having with them is not good at all.

What I mean by this is that the console players aren't really being updated with what progress has been made towards the updates specifically coming to console and release dates, it would be really nice to have some progress updates at least weekly just so that console players do not continue to feel like that they are being left in the dark. We know that the updates are going to contain things from previous PC updates, and I completely understand the limitations with bringing updates over to the console version, but I'm not asking for lots of new things to be added really fast, I'm just asking for some more information to be given to the console players on a regular basis so that we at least have some knowledge of what needs to be done and what is happening.

Post down below if you too as a console player would like more communication with the developers regarding information on update progress and possible release dates! :smile-new:

I agree with that. I appreciate the help I get from Clare and the support I get from other gamers. Ultimately we are in the dark on everything. When a update is released we get info on the update, but that's it. Its unfortunate because this game still has lots of potential

Agreed.

Hopefully they start updating us on the progress but I doubt that will happen because it’s obvious that either iron galaxy or tell tale whoever would be in charge of that put little effort into the port. Plus they complain ignore all of the tweets reddit post and forum posts. There’s been a ton of them

Totally agree. I'm not even sure if I should continue playing because we have no idea if we console players are going to have anything new. The last new thing was when traders appeared and that's it. No traps, no paint brushes or anything. It would be good to know that sometime we are getting those and what phase are they working on right now so I can continue playing the game.

clare is the only link you will get to the devs. they tell her and she will tell us if and when there's any news on updates. you wont get any information apart from that so its pointless asking.

when clare knows we will know... simple as that.

...the console players aren't really being updated with what progress has been made...
Hello.

Officially, 7DTD console is a final product.

https://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?62391-When-Will-the-Console-Version-Have-_______

It's sold as a finished product of the a14.7 version of the game.
So in a finished product, there is no need to communicate to players except for removing bugs.

We console users can feel lucky to see any feature added, as it is not mandatory in a finished product.

I was looking in the fixed bugs. It says that the last fixed bug was mini bikes vanishing.

That was six month ago. The last two updates have been bug fixes supposedly. What gives?

Optimize

It may be a finished product but it definitely has the performance of a alpha game. I’m ok with it not getting more features as long as they fix all the bugs including md5. And optimize the game. That’s the most important part imo.

This game is awesome but it definitely feels like a cash grab to me. While they are still updating it they go at a outrageous pace. 1.5 years into the console version and the md5 error still is wiping people’s bases out that is unacceptable imo.

Due to how. Bad the port was handled by iron galaxy I have no intention on buying any of there future games including there new one extinction. Actually that’s probably where all there money and team went to after this port was released. But that’s just my thoughts on it all

Considering I used to play the game on the PC and have been playing since its early stages I wouldn't say its a money grab as they have been working hard on the game and have been putting out big updates and keeping the PC players updated on a regular bases. Its just that they have bought out a console version, but are mainly focused on the PC version of the game, however I do agree on the fact the game is very buggy and needs a lot of optimization. If I'm 100% honest I love the game, and I will continue to play it, but it should not have been released as a "finished" game due to all of the issues it is currently having, even on the newer consoles, it should of been put as a "game preview" title like Ark survival evolved used to be before it rightfully released as a "finished" game.

The developers should work more like the devs in Ark. What I mean by that is, is that they should focus on both versions of the game both the same. And lets face it Ark is a much bigger game than 7 days to die and it also has official servers on both console and PC that need to be maintained. It just seems to me that they released it as a "finished" title so that they can release updates, but they could wait a year to release it if they wanted to with pretty much no backlash because its a "finished" game.

Games like Call of duty WW2 are finished products, but they still provide information to both console and PC players about upcoming things. Another example would be ARK Survival Evolved, which has released as a "finished product", but they still provide progress updates and communicate with the players. So I'm sorry, but that argument was completely pointless. You are basically saying they can release the game then let it die and you would be fine with it. That would be like the developers of the new call of duty releasing it, then stop communicating with the players and let the game die. That is basically what is happening here, the game on the console is slowly dying because of the lack of communication between the players and the developers, I for one am starting to find it very hard to get myself motivated playing the game, and I'm sure others are too. It just feels like the game is dying slowly and painfully.

You are just failing to see that they have pretty much released an Alpha stage game (which is what it feels like due to the bugs and lack of optimization) as a "finished product" and to be honest it is also starting to lack content, for new players the content that is in the game will feel like its a lot, but to the veteran players like myself, its all old news and has lost our interest and just feels like too much work to achieve specific things, rather than an exciting adventure like it used to. The updates that the PC are getting (giving them more content) refreshes the game for us veteran 7 days players and changes everything from hard work to that exciting adventure that we had back when we first played the game.

Would be awesome if there was more information such as "update coming within the next month" or even a "planned updates" section or something.

We all love this game & are obviously very passionate about it. Like another poster said though, our ports (Xbox & PlayStation) are in the hands of iron galaxy. Anything that is done to the game up to this point is up to them.

What we need to do is somehow find a way to jump directly at them, pleading our cases & desires to them. Not that it would make much of a difference there either though.

In the mean time, we just have to wait & pray we get more optimizations & hopefully new content. That sucks but just the way it is.

Yeah I fully agree, they have a checklist in the PC part of the forum that keeps them updated on what has been done and what still needs to be completed, something like that would be awesome. And those developer diary videos that the PC players get updated with would also be cool.

Why would they stop this thread. It’s not hurting anything it’s very reasonable to ask for more information on the development of a game that there community enjoy. There not really any hostility just thoughts and opinions.

Very surprised sylen and Clare haven't jumped down this posts throat. . .
Why would I?

I agree that Telltale should let us know about more of what is going on.

I also know that Claire isn't able to tell us what she doesn't know, or isn't allowed to tell.

Additionally, console developers are typically very tight-lipped about what they are working on. It's just the way things are.

The reason that PC gets so much more chatter is because it's still being developed. The Fun Pimps want our input on how things are going, changes we want to see, likes, dislikes, ect. The game is still in early access after all. The console version, not so much. (Even though it feels like it at times.)

It should also be noted that The Fun Pimps are not developing the console versions. (A lot of people either don't realize this, or seem to forget when it suits them.)

No offense taken. This thread is a bit different from many of the others that get shot down. I recently left the last "when is the next update" thread open too. Just 'cause.

Most of the time though, the threads really are just crap duplicated over and over again.
