PC Complete review of A17 experimental

Yay! Another overly long review posted in a new thread. I really wish the mods would roll all these into one "What I think..." thread.

Viktoriusiii, don't take offence, you are obviously entitled to your opinions - and some I agree with, some I don't - but a lot of what you have discussed has already been mentioned and dissected in other threads already.

Anyway, carry on buddy, my comment is not intended to shut down your right to say your piece, more that I wish there was a more collated way that people could do this rather than numerous separate threads all roughly covering the same thing which drop off the front page quickly and are consigned to history shortly after.

Then message the mods privately instead of putting it on HIS thread.

 
Well no, because that's not the sole purpose of the message. It was also to say that the points raised have been discussed (many in considerable detail) in other threads already.

I've not been rude, nor have I in any way tried to dismiss their right to post.

 
If there's a need to preface, sometimes, that says enough.

At times, an opinion which pops once, is an opinion. An opinion which happens more than once between different individuals, says something as well.

All in all... let the mods do their thing. In this case, if you felt a certain mod action was necessary, it would be just more appropriate to message them directly, leaving out the need for any "NO OFFENSE BUD".

Heh.. we've discussed this more than OPs points! Ultimately you may be right, but from experience of running and moderating many servers and forums over the years I felt this was a suitable response to the initial post. Oh, well, we'll just need to wait and see. My issue more comes from the plethora of "my opinion.." threads that are an almost daily occurrence and only dilute discussions, rather than shutting down opinion.

Because their opinion is special, and needs it's very own thread!

It would be neat if there was like one review thread for all of this crap so we can see the actual forum for a change. I mean the frist page of the forum is only 9 hours of posts. If things were moved and merged that would help the forum a lot.

Do you think ANYONE would bat an eye if I wrote this 10000 characters in there? MAybe one or two people would read it, but right now this thread has already more views than that.

SO STOP ARGUING I SWEAR TO GOD! You people are the problem. GIVE FEEDBACK. And then stop. This is not a discussion thread.

They didn't. It's too late. :D

And at this point I would not ask for Roland &Co. to try and find and throw all of these in one thread. It's gonna cool down after experimental, I think.

Some valid criticism in the OP, but yeah... most of it has been said and discussed to bits already. Nothing new here for me to reply to. Turn it into a steam review maybe?

DragonFyre, this is the actual forum. If a user has a long review of A17E, this is an appropriate place to post it.

If a post is a logical extension of an existing, active thread, then by all means post in that thread. If a user's thoughts are distinct enough or have another reason to stand alone, making a new thread is appropriate. The subject of this thread was clear from the title, so it was easy for users to decide whether or not to read and participate in this thread.

Viktoriusiii, this is a discussion thread, because all threads here are discussion threads. Users are allowed to respond, pontificate, and yes, even argue back and forth in any thread here. That's what makes it a forum.

Since the original post is redacted (by the OP) and the other posts are off topic, I'm closing this.

 
This is closed but I just want to add that people DO get upset when their thread is merged with others and those who are upset by the changes are likely to boil over if what they do here gets altered from what they wanted. I thought briefly about merging all the negative threads into one but then there would have been someone ready to step forward and accuse me of trying to minimize the negative footprint on the forums so the devs wouldn't notice all the blow back.
