Yeah, I didn't used to. And then I got my leg broken by a dire wolf in the snow biome and had to scramble to find materials for a splint so I could actually move/fight. That motivated me to start carrying them.

I hate when those random just normal ■■■ zombies hit you and your bones turn to glass and both arm and legs break

There's some xml for drone weapon mods, but I think they said before they didn't like the idea of it having weapons as it would be OP. I imagine with how it moves around it would be hard for zombies to target it. Though maybe with bandits coming they would reconsider it since there will be more capable threats that could target it easier than zombies.

I mean, I'm not gonna promise anything as I'm not TFP, but considering they've basically said they are the next big update, plus they are putting out surveys asking players what they want/expect from bandits, I can only treat that like they are coming. I think Richard said they should be here by the end of this year, but that usually doesn't work out so maybe early next year, but who knows.
