PC Clay ground mechanic

POUND YOU SILLY

New member
So if I destroy the top layer of clay and try to replace the top layer with grassy ground it won't let me replace a majority. It's the glitch with placing objects and it destroys when you place it. I've tried different things and causing a collapse just to replace it is rather aggrivating. It will replace it with no problems when it's on dirt but as soon as I put it on top of clay it goes back to destroying. It's strikingly similar to the cornfield ground and how it acts. The difference is that this is the opposite. Instead of placing a block to remove it, you place a block and it replaces the blocks on a sequence. It does this mostly above clay. It's litteraly the opposite of the corn field. The corn field is a certain dirt block and below it is regular dirt. This is grassy block and clay. They are very different and maybe that's what's causing this mechanic. That's why it did this before on the gravel roads. The gravel and dirt.

Just to make it a little more clear. Two different blocks besides each other being replaced with another block creates this glitched mechanic I believe

So I destroyed all the clay going down 5 blocks deep. Filled it in and it's still not filling in on the top layer or even the layer above the top layer. Nothing can be placed on it that won't break. Patches of it will fill in but the majority still won't fill in. Any ideas how to fix this besides a huge collapse above?

Wow, the GREATEST FIX EVER!!! So I did some testing and nothing was working. That is until I put the yellow sedan on the glitched patches that I couldn't replace. I put down sedans and destroyed them with the wrench and I can now say my map is cancer free :)

Hi A HOMICIDAL NUN

Thanks for the info and that updates too :) I'm glad you managed to fill in the holes, good guess with placing the sedan over it! I shall have a look on my end, I wonder if it's more terrain issues if it is caused by the same thing with different effects.

Did this only occur on one particular patch of clay? or does it happen to all? Could you send me on the co-ordinates? also are you still playing in Navezgane?

Clare

Yeah I only play navezgane haha. Its not every clay patch although they all seem to have small places that are difficult to place a block. I actually know exactly which clay patch it is. It touches the southeast corner of the cornfield at the farm. It is a large patch of clay and the glitched blocks are the first layer and the layer just above the top layer that you stand on. The sedan overrides all of it in one go. Tbh, I was holding my ears waiting on the sedan to possibly explode not knowing how it would act with the glitchy terrain. I was so mad because I'm making an antebellum home and I turned the farm into a cotton field. So I've got many hours worth of work in perfecting this place

You're fast becoming a Navezgane farm expert that's for sure =) Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, I shall grab the shovel!

It prob doesn't make a difference, but were you using a shovel the whole time you were working in this area?

I use an auger for everything besides wood. Especially on huge projects like the one I'm currently working on. I've completely changed everything. Just the first layer I destroyed and replaced to look better is over 25,000 blocks. The roads are sandstone to look like georgia red clay. The antebellum home is also 10+ blocks high just on the columns. This will be my best project on 7dtd hands down.

Wow that sounds like a lot of work! No wonder you use the Auger - don't forget to add it to the strut your stuff thread in general discussion when you're done.

Thanks for confirming that too, as I said, it may not make a difference, but it's best to replicate these issues as close as possible to start.

I could do some before and after pictures for this one. Even looking at the map you can tell how OCD I am with every single block haha. Everything is uniform, straight and perfectly placed

I love a well organised build you can see on the map! it looks so clean and crisp in comparison to everything else!
