@Roland you never replied to my question of what happens with death :( Does your status reset and items dropping/deleted (if configured) the only penalty now?
That hasn’t been determined yet. It is moddable though so you could impose any number of penalties due to death. Right now there isn’t much of a penalty implemented. Eat some food and use some regular bandages and you are back to normal again. But the devs DO want there to be meaningful death penalties at some point.

Didn't we already have that with the wellness system? Gotta say that even tho ive obviously not tried the new A17 stuff yet i think i will miss wellness =(

What sort of penalties could we expect in the future? Even if its just in idea form

With the new buff system they could have the player:

lose levels

lose ranks in the attributes.

retain negative status (like broken leg)

add a negative status upon respawn like sickness or weakness that would drain fatigue faster until the player recovers.

Best of all would be for them to add a Dead is Dead official mode. That would probably be the best option.

but I will give it a try before bitching about it.
I'd also like to note that there's nothing wrong with expressing concerns (not female dog about it with no arguments ofc) about a system you haven't played before. Surely you gain a better perspective by playing with it, but if one understands the gist, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand how it will feel like. The reserving judgement option might as well not be there because people are judging the concept not the result.

To me this system looks intuitive, as does the backwards sprinting change. But I'll keep expressing concerns for the lack of a real death penalty that should have come with this system until Roland is fed up with me and bans me. :p Good to know that the devs do want one though. Hope it doesn't take as long as the underground thing.

Probably wouldn't play DID settings myself. The game stutters with framerate drops. I'd say 50% of times that I die is due to game freezing up during Melee

how about vulnerability? like you would take 50% more from zombie hits for a day

- blurry vision aiming down sight

- vomit/cough every now and then for a day that makes it harder to be quiet

- loud farts =o

dont like the level roll back prefer the handicapped for a while ones

I kind of like being able to sprint backwards, but there are a lot of ways around it so, ultimately I will get used to it.

What "the underground thing" are you talking about?

It sounds unnecessarily complex, of course I won't know until I try it.
Exactly my sentiment.

Errr... I really don't want to turn this thread as well into an underground debate, but to answer briefly, it's devs saying that they wish to add underground threats/content since 3-4 years ago.

With respect to not having numbers showing total health/stamina:

How are foods/drinks labeled now to show which ones give better value and by how much? That's my reason for wanting numbers, so I know how many of which kinds of foods I should carry to feed me for a given amount of time. I don't want to try to remember if cornbread or canned meat is better (do I have to eat one to see how much recovery I get from it?) when it's so simple to look at my total health/stamina number then over to the +5 health (or whatever) on the food and do some basic math.
