Chuck's rocks can infect you - what the heck?

Hmm, I see what's going on... you're an Old Crow, so you might not have heard of this. There's this newfangled idea of "Germ Theory of Disease". Basically, infections are caused by these tiny little specs of dust that are essentially Everywhere. Worse yet, if you have an aggressive type, any little bloody break on your skin can cause a nasty infection. And those pebbles, they weigh about the same as a man, so for a close approximation of the hit, you can imagine jumping off a horse at full gallop, as fast as a fast steed can; and landing on a sturdy brick wall. Now, that, that's going to cause some of that bleeding. And if that silly theory is correct, that just might be enough. Now, I don't know if I can trust that myself; sounds stupid, how would those specs of dust grow into pustules and swelling? But it's a game, a silly little fantasy, and every hit you take just has that chance... it sounds a little sci-fi, but I can live with it, I guess.

Now, if you'll excuse me, the barn seems to be on fire, I'll be needing to go get me a few buckets...

Seeing how ZOMBIES are now attracted to feces and Cornbread with Canned Peaches for supper....

I'm not surprised or shocked.

Wasn't the infection a general category and not just a zombie infection?

You can get an infection if you get cut by rocks, especially if they are freshly off the ground and full of dirt.
Pretty much this. It's my understanding it's 'an infection' and not 'the Infection'. I've also been infected by various non-reanimated wildlife..
(I suppose you could say they eat some infected meat, but I think it stands to even more reason they just have gnarly-gross mouths.)

Well, it doesn't cause an infection directly.
It has abrasion on it which is a crit.
All crits have a chance to cause other crits depending on your cumulative chance.

I'll work something up for the New Year's patch to prevent that from happening.

Thanks for the heads up!

Don’t sit on public toilets bare-assed either as viruses can live on surfaces…
And don't wizz on an electric fence!

That's the thing - it didn't cause any Abrasions, nor did I have any injuries prior to being beaned in the head by said boulder. It just went straight to Infection.

Thanks for looking into this!

The rock is very dirty
Are you sure? It was taken out of the pristinely white snow. ;)

I just figure any damage taken can cause infection. It didn't really bother me. And now that we have apiaries (even though they are ridiculously slow even with mods installed), curing infections is hardly a problem and infection chance decreases as you improve your armor, especially with certain armors. But if schwanz9000 says they'll change it, then that's fine, too. :)
