PC Chem-Station max selling price: 105 Dukes

I know, it's only a small detail, but one which is really annoying.

Beakers are hard to get, people want them for making Chemistry Stations. But the max selling price for beakers is way too low and if I make a Chem-Station for sale the max selling price is 105 Dukes! Please fix that.

I would also like to know if that max price thing will be ever removed. Example silencer:

Very rare, max selling price only ~10,000 dukes, way too low. I must put them into a weapon to have a higher max selling price.

Why can't we make our prices like we want?

Rarity doesnt equal price. Still too easy to earn vast amounts without trying to sell chem stations, beakers are not hard to get nor are they underpriced, average pop n pills gives 1-2 beakers.

Traders determine prices not us otherwise we'd all be rolling in dukes and not needing to find anything!

It's RNG. I went 68 days in TWO GAMES before ever seeing ONE beaker, pop'n'pills or not.

Sorry if that's not clear but I speak about prices in Player Vending Machines, not NPC traders.

The Shamway Food Store also has a small pharmacy in the back. Just in case you don't have enough Pop'n Pills on your map.

Ok point taken about vending machines.

As for beakers, in the interest of science (boredom) I fired up the last 6 rwg maps i played and 1 new rwg map all 16k. found 23 pop n pills in total (not an exhaustive search but enough) failed to find a beaker in 2 of them 32 beakers in total.

Rng is fine and a much needed part of the game in the absence of hordes and items to search for. No beaker is an inconvenience, no more than that.

You might have gotten lucky with your seeds for the past few maps you played, because this hasn't been my experience across many playthroughs (save a few where I also found many) and the scarcity of beakers something that many people on the forums have pointed out. Reloading the maps will just repeat the experience and reinforce your opinion that beakers aren't too scarce.

I'm not saying that beakers are definitely too scarce, since I could have just gotten really unlucky myself, but I'm leaning towards the game needing a few more options to get them a little more reliably. Looting several Pop 'n Pills stores during late game and just getting more bandages and grain alcohol is kind of annoying.

(I don't have anything to contribute on the topic of player vending machine prices, unfortunately.)

Beakers arent essential, just another thing its nice to have. Not finding something due to rng is an important part of the game since it makes you consider other options and changes the game and that playthrough. I've had games where even water was hard to find, which gives you different priorities. If its such a problem use a mod like most others do, or adapt and fight on.

Imagine the boredom level if you had to find nothing and everything was easily accessible, would your game last the average 30-40 days?

RNG is one of the games saving graces, maybe an option to switch it off would help but i fear it would kill the game for most.

You seem to be arguing against things I've never said or implied. I'm only talking about late game, where you're supposed to have access to most if not all crafting stations. Using chem stations found in the world, using a less efficient camp fire, etc. are all fine alternatives for early to mid game, but at some point looting the umpteenth Pop 'n Pills just becomes tedious and it would be nice to have other/advanced options for getting a beaker.

I'm not saying to abandon RNG, make it easy, or any of that.

Not arguing at all. Beakers are handy to find and have but not essential.

By the time you get to late game bullet sponge glory, with the glowing and the spitting, its usually time to restart (for me at least, the fun dies with the ever glowing everything and the war of attrition that follows!).

Wasnt my intention to offend or imply anything, just an opinion on how rng can influence the game and change how it plays.

Here it would be a possibility that the player can craft a beaker in the late game. For example, you could tie the production to something you get late in the game such as the crucible. Or you need a perk that you get very late.

Discussion between "beakers aren't essential so they're good as is" vs "beakers are needed late game, but are hard to find in some seeds".

Also: "I get beakers all the time and even testing various seeds i got tons" vs "For countless hours and seeds i get no beakers"

In my opinion, this wide difference between experiences shouldn't be happening, especially as the only way to get the Beaker is to find it. Take into consideration that some people play only 1 or 2 maps, don't restart at some point of progression and perhaps don't even make 15 maps to choose 1 on which they will play.

Additionally, only after many many hours you know it's hard to find a beaker on a map, not in the beginning. Not everyone has this much time to "to lose" on a map you're unlucky with and start a new one. I agree, there should be an alternative late game for getting the beaker.

Back to @OP topic though, Chem Station shouldn't be sold as cheap as it is, because we can't dismantle it safely, nor retrieve beakers from existing ones.

If beakers are so rare,on your current game, doesnt it negate the point of building and selling a chem station anyway, regardless of price

Same here. It was ridiculous because once I found one...I literally found 3 more in the same pop n pills in the next 4 boxes I opened.....
