PC Cheesy blocks to ruin AI pathing.

Most of these people cheese the game for a few nights then get bored just like warmer said above.
It has nothing to do with using or not using some mechanics. Any person gets tired of doing the same thing and getting the same result.

Unfortunately, at a late stage of the game, you are only looking for something to do. Someone is building statues, someone is inventing new horde bases, but most people are not interested in this.

A simple example: there are 8 billion people in the world, all of them have approximately the same brain, but how many of them paint pictures or write poetry? Units. Most people do not even try to do this.

The same is in the game. Creative people find something for themselves, and the rest are enough to copy someone else's idea, see how it works and that is enough for them.

In the first server(A16.4) i was playing with my friends on i was creating monuments where all of our old bases were.  they would be covered in torches and candles, so it would just be a massive screamer magnet.  it was glorious lol.

A lot of people on my server use special block shapes to mess with zombie ai pathing, generally I turn a blind eye because people can play how they wish but I wish dev's would fix this. I don't think a brain dead zombie would be afraid of a block shape, just ruins the game imo.
I hope they fix it too personally while I do uses it tho personally.

I can build a base without any of the blocks that mess with pathing and it´s cheesy af. You can build afk bases without blocks that mess with AI pathing.

IF they fix those blocks, you will be back for another topic to fix the next cheese. And if they fix that....

You can´t get rid of cheese.

Let people play how they want. And if it is an actual problem for you, well, it´s your server, write it in the rules and kick people who do it. Or make a server side mod and mod those blocks out.

This is a true statement.  If you find a cheese block that has been sitting for a year, all you have to do is remove the top moldy (penicillin layer :)), And the rest will just be well aged cheese

Every time someone complain about OTHER players utilizing "cheese" to manipulate the zombies, I never hear any justifiable reasons as to how it affects their gameplay. If you don't like cheesy mechanics, fine. Don't use them. If other players are using them? Fine, they can use them. It affects your experience exactly 0%.

Also, every player's definition of cheese is going to be different. There's cheese that affects their ability to path, to see the player, to melee through it, to spit through it. The grey area is bigger than Jan- eh, never mind. Point is, if the devs catered to everyone, there would be about 3 blocks in the game.

Direct reasons:

- any PvP, solo or group

- any competitive challenges

- pure aesthetics

- puritan morality .. :)

Indirect reasons:

- devs taking time to fix issues and either breaking things while at it, or just nerfing some tactics

- game getting made more punishing in places to counter cheesy tactics

There's plenty to whine about, but don't get me wrong, my overall view is is "people will cheese, just dev the game to be playable for the most part" ... :)

I'm with you, My horde base design, uses the AI of the zombies against them, no cheese blocks, just give them a path to me we I stand behind my barrier and kill them all.

In conclusion then, the only difference is whether we are talking a McDonalds cheese slice vs a Pule scoop.

Is still a cheese .
