Changing Spawn Point Not Working

I have already searched and followed instructions in the only thread on here multiple times just to be sure. I have also searched elsewhere and also came up empty. Can someone please give me current instructions on how to change mine, and the spawn points of anyone else who joins my game. I have created a zombie challenge maze and need people to spawn into a specific place in order to play. Please help me, thanks.

Open spawnpoints.xml in your world folder using something like Notepad or Notepad++.  Change the coordinates and/or add or remove points.  Save.  Then start your game.  New people joining the map will spawn only at the location(s) in that file.  Be sure you keep the same format.

Nope. Tried that several times now. No Dice.

Is it possible that there are multiple locations for the spawnpoints.xml to be? I deleted all of the spawnpoints just to test it and it still spawned me in the last location I was before I exited out.

Spawn points affect you when you first join a game. Once you are in the game, you will always return to your last location then you exited the game. To test the changed spawn points if you were already in the game, start a new save.

As far as being in multiple locations, every map has that file in its folder. Make sure you edit the file for the correct map.

Oh. I didn't read your response correctly. Now I see. It does work. I just forgot where that first person exited out. He did spawn in the fist time where I wanted, just never there again. I will have to tell people that if they want to come back in, they have to exit out where they spawned in. Thanks for the help.
