PC Cant pick up plants

In Alpha 17 B208 . did they change the plant pick up in the game. I know last version 16 you can hit E on keyboard to pick it up. Only way i can get it by hit it? Or their a skill you need to unlock to pick plants up.

Someone had posted speculation that this was due to the new perks that govern how many items you get from harvesting and that it had to be a punch to trigger the perk. I don't think a dev ever confirmed that, but I guess it makes sense on a technical level? So that's probably why. There is a mod to use <E> like before, but you don't get the perk benefit. Fair trade, IMO, on that.

You can only minecraft 'em now. There's the "Living off the land" perk that will increase how many crops you get per punch and self planted crops have only to be planted once and regrow. It's an ok trade off. It takes some getting used to and will turn out pretty useful and faster than original farming in late-ish game.

I get that it's a perk now but starting off I was a little annoyed that I couldn't just grab and go, oh well though.

Yeah I'm really liking the fact that you don't have to replant your seed everything time you harvest.
