Candles/Torches

While waiting the new Alpha, hoping the candles/torches wont kill my fps, i wonder if theres a way to remove all the effects from candles and torches in game. I don't care about the light, i can use my mining helmet.

Any suggestion?

You could edit the items.xml and remove the class property line. That'll do it.
