Book says you find more brass in loot. Does that mean brass replaces some loot in the container or does it add brass to the loot container along with whatever else was in it?

In my opinion... There is a chance to find more brass in loot... Ex. In garbage you find 2 xductape lockpick and scrap brass/brass smelting items/dorknob/trophy... Or if you find trophy there is a chance to find 2 another in same container or Item related to Brass.

Interesting. Just found the book on day 2. Been thinking if I should wait to use it as I still need lots of things besides brass right now and don't want them knocked out of the loot, but perhaps there's no need for me to worry.

Just read right a way ... Brass is always useful... More brass is still good

In the first week I don't need brass, I need duct tape and food. Don't want to lose out on it for brass.Just read right a way ... Brass is always useful... More brass is still good

I can't say for sure, but I've noticed the extra brass seems to be in addition rather than replacement. I still get normal loot with it, it's just extra bonus. Definitely read it asap, there will never been a time where you have too much brass! Unless you're playing on very low bm spawning.
