Can no longer connect to any multiplayer servers

Everytime I now attempt to log into a multiplayer server the f1 screen pops up with a red error that reads "EXC EndOfStreamException: Attempted to read past the end of the stream."

And after clicking "spawn" it sits at starting game forever.

Sometimes i'll get another yellow error that will include the end of stream exception, and also include a line that says "Failed to load region" and points to a file in my appdata.

I've spent the last couple of hours attempting to google fixes and have gotten a large number of different "answers" to my problem.  I've validated my files, I actually do it after every attempt and every time so far it says one file was unable to validate and would be reaquired.  

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a similar problem i was able to get into the game after a couple of attempts but i have 0 starting items and my challenge log is broken and not working.

Have you tried either another server or single player?  It could be a broken mod on the server, a corrupted map, etc.  I haven't seen that error so don't have any details on it, but it seems like there's something broken with the server/map/mod.  Maybe someone more familiar with that error can give more details or suggestions, though.

This sounds similar to the same problem I ran into with my own dedicated server.

Made a separate post with more in-depth info in the title in hopes that it'll help others with the same issue -> here <-

Give the fix (clean reinstall of a dedicated server AFTER backing up) a try and let us know if it fixes it for you?

Other people can connect to the server without issue its not a server issue - I have tried connecting to different servers as well as trying to change my character profile in the options but cannot connect to multiplayer.  I can play single player no problem.
