Windows can I recover a lost save?

I accidentally deleted my save file in AppData/Roaming/7DaysToDie. I see that there is no cloud sync, is that correct?
I tried a few file recovery programs, but none of them could recover all the lost files.

Can you suggest something I could do?
 
No cloud sync. The saves exceed most of Steam's metrics in size and complexity.

Your only hope would be retrieving from the Recycle Bin, or maybe recovery programs.

Although it doesn't help you this time, you may want to consider setting the saves folder (and generatedworlds folder) for automatic backup so that you won't lose anything if you accidentally delete something or have a corrupted save. Though for corrupted saves, you'd need a backup that keeps at least a couple copies or doesn't replace the last backup right away since you might just replace your good backup with a corrupted backup.

I don't bother with it myself because I don't really mind that much if I have to start a new game. It can be frustrating if I'm in the middle of something big, but it's not that big of a deal to me. But it is a good option if you want to avoid the problems.
