Exactly this, nobody had a complaint to raise about a16's tool progression because it was for the most part fine, this slower swing speed or cooldown between actions that has been added is the issue. Not complaining that a hammer is not on par with a nail gun, but rather the massive performance gap between the 2 instead of a more granular progression as it used to be in a16, due to an unneeded slowdown of the swing animations.
Well the stone axe just sucks all around now, but being it's the starter tool and it does all the jobs, it feels about right. Not complaining that a hammer is not on par with a nail gun, but rather the massive performance gap between the 2 instead of a more granular progression as it used to be in a16, due to an unneeded slowdown of the swing animations.
hammer was decent speed in A16 and a lot faster than stone axeThe hammer doesn't seem any worse than A16
Exactly why should your version of the setting (slower) be the default? if most people want it to be faster it makes more sense for that to be the default and then you can be the one to change settings.I, for one, am happy for the change. It makes the game more realistic for me. And as I suggested in a farming thread, the solution is to add building speed multiplier to the settings or xml file. I would probably make it even higher but people who complain here could then lower it and build however they like. For me, it carries some poetry that you have to help your friend to actually finish the building before the sun sets...
How about swing speed of tools like axe/pickaxe/shovel, is this also being looked at?They are looking into speeding up the block upgrade/repair animation.
