Bought years ago, how do I update?

I bought 7 Days to Die years ago, and still have the file on my PC.

Screenshot is the error message I get, and the link has nothing useful for my situation.

How can I update it to the current patch to make it playable without paying for it again on Steam?

1. Save that version. Only kickstarters have the pre-steam releases, and AFAIK there is not a way to get it back if you nuke it.

2. Go here. Open a ticket and submit your original kickstarter email. Wait a few days for the ticket to be processed, and they'll send you a key for Steam.

3. Go to Steam, enter your key, download a19.2 and enjoy.
