Curious guys when you build your horde bases and there is 4 separate sides the zombies can come to are you getting the zombies preffering to beat on the walls instead as i am having that issue and early on it may not be a big deal but when your getting ferals and radiateds it starts to become a problem

 
I think zombies will find the path of least resistance, that is the path with fewer hit points, to get to you and they will break the blocks in their way. They will also all rigorously follow this logic, so they will all come from "one side". However if there is no path to you, then they'll start breaking stuff randomly, i don't know exaclty.

My suggestion is search on youtube for "7 days to die horde base design" and you will find plenty of good bases.

Thicken up the the walls on the three sides you don't want them to attack and they will be more likely to attack the one you want them to. There will be some random numbers who won't go to the weakest spot but most should.

 
i find rhat in a perfectly symmetrical square base design they adjust their path of destruction based exactly on where you are. move one or 2 blocks left or right and they all run a different way even if they are making progress in getting in.

that means i can use the symmetry to my advantage and move to the other side to draw them away to relieve pressure on the apots they aee going for.

demolishers are the ones that wreck me...if it werent for those i reckon id be invincible.

 
Dig a Trench around the three sides you don't want them to attack. Have the trenches shallow out towards the path you want them to follow so any that have fallen in can walk out on the side you want them to be on. Trench should be at least 2 blocks wide and 4 blocks deep so they can't just stack and go right through it. Line the inner edge with spikes so any who try to climb out towards the base take damage. This is just for funsies and bonus points though lol.

I've seen this but once the zombies manage to do some damage to the structure they see that this is the weakest point now and they do not change their decision .

I usually have a base integrated into the main base double iron bars and both bases have doors , if you dig a trench that leads them to the first and outer door they will all go for that door , BUT if you close the second inner door they don't see a path towards you and they start hitting random stuff. 

Just a hint.

Are you standing very close to a melee-opening by chance? If the zombies could hit you through such a half-open space it seems to be similar to you standing in the open and it automatically becomes the place they want to go to. If you are standing slightly back though, a half-breached wall looks much more enticing and they probably won't fall for it.

If my assumption is correct, this would not work farther inside the base and specifically not if you are standing on an upper floor or the top of a base.

i stand at their level in a 5x5  center of a big 15x15 ibar sandwich.. top layer overhangs bottom layer so they dont pile up each other to the roof. learnt that the hard way...

usually run out of materials to upgrade evenly. access base from either underground  or removeable frames so no ground level door just hatch with no clear  path

late game now use lots spikes to help against demolishers

 
The best base for killing has a breach area you can protect.  Otherwise you can build square bases and kill from elevation, but the larger the base the more problems you'll have, versus the number of people you have with you.

i thickened the walls up like you suggested and it worked altho the zombies did get odd they circled my base before finally comin in 1 of the  funnel halls i have
