PC Blood Moon Horde not Spawning? (1 Day Spawn Cycle)

Or maybe I just don't know how it works now (haven't played since A14). Just testing hordes out here are my settings:

day length (tried 10 and 20 minute days)

cheating - on

BM spawn - 1 day

range - 0 days

multiplayer enabled - friends only 2 players (I am only playing by myself though)

how many BM zombs? (tried 8 and tried 32)

Either I get 1-3 zombies when blood moon hits or nothing. Made another map, I stand out in open with some minor test defenses and...nothing happened for two consecutive days, 0 spawn. At this point I'll probably just do some console commands to spawn them to test things out for now.

Am I doing something wrong or does BM act differently now? Thanks!

Also thank you pimps for releasing a TON of updates for this awesome game, glad to be back after a long hiatus! :smile-new:

 
Depends what level you have. GameStage dictates how strong the BM horde is and i don't know if there is any BM horde on very low GS. Try artificially raising your level (and so GS) and test it out. I don't think the game was designed to include a very low GS BM horde.

I tried one day cycles, i didnt get a horde on first night. Maybe there is a min game stage to get a horde. Tho i never continued after that night...not sure why. I guess I was kinda disappointed that a horde didnt show up.

AH that was it! Upped level and they came swarming in!

So zombie limit (4 - 64) so if I leave that set at 8 I will only get 8 zombs each BM? Level 80 day 126, still only 8 but they are more difficult or something?

Anyway thanks again for sound advice good sir!

 
That's just more of a limit of how many spawn at one time. You'll still get more than that in total.

So BM spawns in waves then? Three waves to be exact with equal or LESS bombs pending my current game stage?... alright I'll take your word for it, thanks for info!

It's usually working in a sense how many at a time you can have spawned. If you have 16 and kill 2, but have 24 still waiting to be spawned, you will get 2 more. It's really rare to kill a whole spawn of Zs (unless you're really OP), therefore it's hard to see a group of 8, 16 or 24 spawn at once (apart from the beginning). On the other hand, i don't know how often do they spawn, never delved into that territory.

Ah so it would be the max amount BM zombs that would exist at any given time? So If i set to 4 there will never be more than 4 at a time? If so one could just have 4 zombs knocking at walls then wait it out until sunrise and only have had to deal with 4 total right?
