Biome design

It's a bit lackluster to put it mildly. I get that we can't have glowing mushroom caves or fantasy style designs to make each area look more distinct but there are a few things that could really add that "wow" factor when you visit a new zone. Things like burning trees in the burnt biome as seen in the Max Realism mod. The snow biome could use more shades in the color palette. If you are unable to properly develop new ground textures then add more flora, fauna and objects native to the area that provide some color shading. For example a more transparent and reflective ice covered rock instead of a plain boulder or variant grass that offers a different shade other than the dull green short grass plastered all over the zone. I wouldn't even mind a very slight blue filter in the area to make it generally brighter and less dull overall. Even things like dead trees, dead snowy trees, more flower and fauna variety, etc would make the biomes stand out more as a whole.

The graphics have been updated many times before but I feel like a lot of the biomes still look meh in comparison to the fancy food animations and labels on the cans. We need someone on the team to develop more art assets for random placement in the worlds with variants for the various biomes.

There is no Max Realism mod. I'm pretty sure you're referring to JaWoodle's latest series? He's running a mod called Better Biomes and Urban decay, which add a ton of visuals to the environment. Personally, while I do think it fits the whole 'apocalyptic world' vibe better than vanilla, I also think it's a bit much in certain cases. For example, I do not think burning trees makes much sense. Sure it looks cool, but just like having street lights that still work, trees would burn for hours and then the flames would die out once all the combustible material was spent. There's a reason it's called the "burnt biome" and not the "burning biome".

I do agree the world could look more varied and detailed, but please, use the better biomes mod as an example and then tone it down a few notches.

Especially when trying to get around on the bikes. The fallen trees are everywhere. I tried both mods quite a while back. They look great, but I would have preferred less dense versions myself. Probably wouldn't use Better Biomes again simply due to the obstacles getting in the way. That gets old fast. Probably not an issue if you stick to the roads, although some roads in towns and cities were covered also.

add more flora, fauna and objects

One word: performance. Especially on console. I agree, though, it could do with a lot more variety if they can swing it.

i prefer the eternally burning trees over the sparse empty world of vanilla. it super sucks that the world is so empty i can see further than the game's draw distance :/

Ok, but constantly burning trees won't do anything to prevent that. By all means - add more foliage and trees and debris. I never said that was a bad idea.
