Bike becoming unusable

Twice now on the server I play my bicycle has just broken for no reason. The game stops recognises it, it knows my bike is there but doesn’t allow me to interact with it, if I remove the ground beneath it it just floats. Anybody have any workarounds for this?

 
Use the dev hammer and smack the bell out of it until it breaks, use the creative menu to spawn in a replacement.

 
Had this happen to a guy on one of my servers. Restarting the server a couple of times fixed it.

If not, TopAce's advise is also good.
