PC Best Practices for downloading Alpha 18

My Server won't run after update to a18 any ideas ? 17.4 runs fine before :-(
Tested Debian 9, 10, Ubuntu 19 same Error:

[s_API FAIL] SteamAPI_Init() failed; SteamAPI_IsSteamRunning() failed.

dlopen failed trying to load:

steamclient.so

with error:

steamclient.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

[s_API FAIL] SteamAPI_Init() failed; unable to locate a running instance of Steam, or a local steamclient.so.

2019-10-11T21:42:22 72.968 ERR [steamworks.NET] Could not initialize GameServer

On my (working) dedicated server steamclient.so is directly in the downloaded 7D2D directory, i.e. in the same dir where serverconfig.xml is. File size of the library is 21967073 at the moment. If you execute "du -sh ." in that directory it should tell you a size of 12G for the whole game.

Updated my steam game and downloaded the a18e. All seems well for me, but I have a friend who is trying to do the same but he isn't able to choose a different build. When he clicks on the drop down bar to it does nothing. He has reinstalled the game, and verified its integrity. Anyone have a clue as to why he cant?

Have him try updating Steam.
