PC Bears?

Just don’t be scared and always keep moving. I tend to find a road and kite them near as I pelt them with whatever weapon I have that’s ranged. Just back pedal and keep hitting them.

Worst experience but most challenging was for me on day one. Had a level 40 bow and crap arrows. I killed 2 bears before noon, had to make a new bow for the second one but it’s easy.

My group does it with numbers. It's not as bad with 3-4 players all shooting it with various weapons all from different directions.

I still use the "rock method" early game. Yes they do occasionally make their way up to you but if that happens I just run down the other side of the rock, wait for the bear to eventually make it the rest of the way up then down toward me, run around the other side if the rock or even another rock close by, & repeat. All this while getting shots in when I can.

Makes for an interesting fight but killing them from the huge rocks usually is pretty effective & mostly safe. Have LOTS of arrows handy though & like a few others have said, try to aim for the face.

Bears take a lot of arrows to kill when shooting them in the bunghole

I seen a bear standing in the middle of the road between the settlement and trading post in wasteland/desert. Just up that steep hill. I seen a random feral running as well and bunch of dogs. I wanted to check that trading post out. I missed that hidden drive way. First time ever seen a random feral. Usually takes a screamer to get one to appear.

I’ve seen them in wasteland areas, not just hub city locations. Usually the stray cop or feral wandering if I’m up in days and no deaths.

I killed that bear that was near trader Jimmy. He was still there. But wasn't on the road. So I figure maybe the game moved him from yesterday's gaming session.

I was a bit sloppy. He caught me off guard. I was about to open up the map. Heard him roar. Then I got doing the bunny hop while reloading sniper rifle. Then decided to hop back on bike since I took some major damage. I did die after that video. Slowly bled out since no food to give me a boost and no first aid kit. I got about 50 of those at home. hhahaahah

My base is below the hill at the settlement. But it isn't the current bed to spawn in. My current bed is at the boobie trap. So I had to grab another sniper rifle and 500 rounds and gas up my other bike and drove back to the settlement. Then walked up that steep hill on foot and got my backpack of what I had when dying and took the other bike back. Now bored with the game. Also drove back in the dark.

I seen another bear side of road heading north from settlement. Also two bridges collapsed today after I drove across them. One near that gas and go. Other bridge near southwest river. That only has one block to drive over to get across. I did that. I should repair them. But the south west bridge has over 10 dogs and roaming hoards. It take a couple minutes to repair that bridge. The gas n go bridge be easy.

Oh and I stole 48 blueberries from Jimmy garden since he was rude about not receiving a tip.

My method for dealing with bears is very simple. - I just lay a 5 by 5 spike bed down and lure the bear into it which works without fail every time, then I shoot it in the face with my hunting rifle until it dies.

I recommend it! :)

OH MY GOODNESS!

He came out of nowhere... Yup, my 5 by 5 spike bed methods don't really work with surprised attacks.

Way to get the kill though! I would've died as soon as I moved away from my bike. The other day I watched an old Grand Spartan video where he killed a bear with a crossbow and simply was walking backwards. I miss too much for that lol.

And of course I haven't seen a bear since I started this thread, but I just lost all my stuff due to a crash so if I see one now it'll be with a stone ax and a bow :upset:

Backwards with a bow has always worked for me. It can be done with just about any Arrowhead too. But be warned, you can run into wandering hordes/ another bear just as easy this way.
