Beaker

No offense to you. I know you're sharing an idea and I respect that. Some things should only be found, but be extra durable/ repairable, but not craft-able. It will bring their value up 10 fold. You have to admit, when you find a beaker now....it feels good....doesn't it?
Not really, i've had the ability to make a chem station since day 40ish and not being able to find a beaker into 66th day (current day) from then, has been very frustrating. It sucks not being able to make gasoline, this whole time i've been buying it from the trader, the gyrocopter takes a ton to fly, and gas ain't cheap.

I just had one as a choice from completing a tier 5 quest (or maybe it was tier 6). Sounds like you're getting really bad RNG in your game.
Oh, i'm still on tier 4 missions and it's been an uphill battle since I began em. I've been having to go back and forth between previous tiers, due to having weak gear and running out of ammo during missions a lot since i've encountering green and blue zombies more often than before. But I guess it's all part of being on Warrior difficulty for the first time and I wanted the challenge, just gotta keep going at it and do my best.

I went to trader Jen's (for some reason she's Asian now 😂) didn't find one there either. I'm on day 66, i've also been to 2 kinds of medical buildings and still no beaker avail. I have all the challenges done before "place a chem station" and trader Jen didn't have a beaker in stock.
Have you tried "tracking" the "Place a Chem Station" challenge? I started tracking it, placed all the other ingredients for the Chem Station in my inventory and then went to traders to see if they had beakers or full Chem Stations. It was just an experiment of mine to see what happens and I may have gotten lucky.

I am pretty sure that's just luck.

I see in Localization.txt that the Beaker is known as "toolBeaker".

I see in items.xml the details for toolBeaker.

I see the following in loot.xml...

I see toolBeaker on the "groupQuestMedical" loot group listed as with probabilities of both "QuestT2Prob" and "QuestT3Prob".
The QuestT2Prob and QuestT3 loot probability templates depend on the loot stage.

I see toolBeaker was on the "groupCookingTools" loot group listed as "low" probability, so weight 0.2.
But that entry is commented out so it isn't currently possible from that group right now.

I see toolBeaker on the "groupChem01" loot group listed as "veryLow" probability, weight 0.05.
This group seems to be used by Chemistry Piles that area small, medium, and large where the different sizes just give 1-3 items.

I see toolBeaker on the "groupChemistryStationLoot03 as "veryLow" probability, weight 0.05.
This appears to be one of three loot groups for a Chemistry Station with a low (0.2) weight.

I see toolBeaker on the "groupPopNPillsCrate03" as "low" probability, weight 0.2.
That group has a "med" chance of being selected by groupPopNPillsCrate with a 0.5 weight.

I see toolBeaker on the "groupLootChestBonusItems" as "medLow" probability, weight 0.35.
This entry seems to only be in groupReinforcedChestT3_06. That seems to mean a Tier 3 loot chest could have one as a bonus item, but there are other possibilities. I didn't dig too hard to see how those different groups work.

I see toolBeaker on the "airdropMedicine" loot group as "low" probability. weight 0.2.
Group "airdropMedicine" gets 1-2 items if groupAirDrop02 is selected. I'm not sure what leads to groupAirDrop02 and at this point I'm getting a little tired of following the chain.

... so go after PoP N Pill crates, chemistry loot piles, broken chemistry stations, T3 chests, and airdrops and then cross your fingers because it is random.

I got one as a loot rewards for some objective. I didn't dig to find out which it was.

Now about the division value, which can't be properly adjusted in the apocalypse, but it's not necessary. Everything is mixed up in proportions, and if we need a 1:2 ratio, it doesn't matter at all whether it's 1 liter to 2 liters or 1 pint to 2 pints. The ratio will be the same.
This, just this!
As proven by the entire USA and UK, wich both kind of functioned using a completely randomized and illogical system of feet/stones/toes/elbows and whatever random item they had at hand.

I remember for example that years ago a satellite crashed on Mars because the EU and USA space agencies working on the project didn't convert the units when calculating its trajectory. What a waste of time and money that one! :sneaky:

Not yet, but will try it. Maybe I can get one to spawn when Jen does a restock in her shop on certain days and get lucky then, who knows.

Yeah well, my current character is level 52 and I haven't gotten a single ■■■■ one to drop, much less found one in any loot and I have to have one to craft a chemistry station. You can't even use a simple jar to make the fk'in table either, which is BS! The trader doesn't sell it, which makes no sense either.
In the current game, I bought my first glass from a merchant. But almost immediately after that, I also received one as a loot drop. And subsequently, I was often offered it as a reward for level 4 quests. In total, I have two chemistry labs, five glass crates, and one glass I gifted to someone.

I looked in my game last night. It was started as a new game on 2.5 stable. It has 2 hour days and default loot settings and with 2 players. On day 38, I have 3 campfires that have beakers installed, 1 chem station that was crafted, and 11 beakers in storage. So they definitely are available in 2.5. What loot settings are you using? Are you using any mods that might change loot in any way, even if you don't think it would affect beakers? Did you start the game in 2.5 or an older version? I'm not sure if beakers have a gamestage attached to them, but what is your gamestage? Really bad RNG can happen, but it is normally not going to be that bad.

You're lucky, i'm on day 68 now and Jen in my server still hasn't had any beakers nor chem stations in stock. It's starting to pis me off, it's never been this bad in getting those.

i'm good with adding a beaker to the forge, but you need a crucible, and maxed out medical journal.
I have both of those as well.

...what the hell?! It's not fair! You're so lucky!

It's not a fact that I bought it from her. I actually went to sell my supercorn supplies and visited four Rects, two Jens, and one Hugh. I bought the glass from one of them, along with all the magazines and machine gun parts.
