Base fell apart after being sturdy for days.

so I built a new designs on my base.

First floor: Using flagstone I did a 7 by 7,  with 4 pillars and a central.  Inbetween I did bars to shoot threw.

Second floor I got fancy:  Rather than put it on the pillars below I did 9x9 to support the third floor plus an extra 4 pillars in the center.  Everything is flagstone by the way.

It last for a days for playing.  I go the city and come back and the base completely fell apart?

Glitch, unstable?  Why did it take that long for it to fall apart?

Flagstone is pretty weak in terms of SI. Not having a fully vertical shaft hurts your calculations quite a bit as well.

Then if you put a farm in, plants get heavier as they grow. What once was fine, now is not.

I actually just put a farm in and planted some seeds.  Didnt realize that would make the top heavy.  So if I did the same with concrete, the base wouldn't have dropped.  Good to know.  Thanks!
