Not being able to cook basic items is unrealistic and a set back for progression due to the RNG on recipes.
Why not make it so we can cook all the recipes. Just that they won’t be as good, because our cooking skill will be low.
For example if I cooked bacon and eggs, it would only be half as good, if I had good cooking skills.
Or maybe nerf the buffs, if the cooking skill is low.
I know the developers don’t like learnt by doing. But cooking is something you actually learn by doing. Let’s say you can master a recipe upto a skill of ten. Starting off I could cook bacon and eggs with a skill of 1/10. But as I cook more and more it would go upto a max of say 8/10. And the only way to get the full 10/10 is to find the recipe. At 8/10 it would give me 80% of the food and buffs you’d normally get. And it can’t be cheesed in one night because you have to find all the eggs.
