PC Backpacks still fall through earth on death.... really?

I've had it happen to me the other day. Was pretty bummed out since I was carrying a silencer schematic, tool and die set, and some pretty good guns from scavenging. Not sure how TFP did the spawning mechanics but it's, imo, something that really needs to be fixed down the line.

In the mean time, I suggest turning on cheat mode and just giving yourself the stuff back.

 
Correction... can't turn off backpack on death its either loose everything, backpack or toolbelt... A loose nothing setting would be nice until they can get around to fixing the bug that makes you loose your stuff. Or if not a command to summon your BP at the very least.

 
Yes this happened to me, and since it's so old I don't think this bug will ever be fixed.

It must be something deeply embedded in the code itself.

 
The default despawn timer is 20 real-life minutes. Did it despawn or fall through the earth?

Fell through earth. I died like 500 yards from my bedroll. Was back to pack in under 2 min.

 
I think this is one of the oldest bugs in the game and it STILL happens. come on man!

Must be a feature now then. :D

Like so many other old "features" that are still or again in the game.

But hey, you got a jeep now so shhhh. ;)
