PC Awesome seeds for random gen ALPHA 17.0-.1

Can anyone explain the difference between the -worldgenseed and the -gamename parameters as they pertain to RWG generation? The notations in my serverconfig.xml file seem to conflict. Both reference being a map seed.

On a related topic, my hosted server has a starting command line that overrides several of my serverconfig.xml settings anyway, which confused me for awhile. (My wife tells me I'm easily confused. :smile-new: )

 
i was tired of the weird random maps so i tried a bad word of my native language and it gave me a pretty good map, i started in a flat area perfect for big bases.

the seed was "hijueputa" which is basically a contraction of "son of female dog" in spanish

 
Thing that's getting me is the lack of Wasteland.
That's how I get all my scrap metal for spikes.

Anyone figure out a map with lots of wasteland?

Wrenches drop like candy how. Wrench cars and electronic things for all the scrap metal you will ever need.

 
So far have only tried 2 seeds that were pretty good in 16, mapmapmap and gammamamma.
Also, when generating the maps, my PC seemed to get stuck in the same place,

GENERATING COUNTRY ROADS

Which of course meant that I had to sing the song while waiting. :)

Yea that song makes me mad/sad/disappointing now because of how it is associated with that mess FO76

 
The Seed WnJ seems to have a few large buildings. I noticed that one POI that has the helipad on the roof. Think it's a hospital maybe?

Some of us are still old enough to associate it mainly with John Denver, and Fallout 76 being a small footnote in it's history :)

 
Well this is the best seed to date the central city is larger and has larger buildings, has a factory or something with a helipad but no trace of the skyscrapers such as the Pharmacy, the super crakabook or the works. Seriously where are you?

My PC as well will not preview advanced large maps. It freezes or just spins.

Hmm I'll keep looking. I haven't even found cities on the scale of those in A16. In A16 I found a city that was 1.3 km in diameter (I measured, due to curiosity since it looked huge.). It had everything, skyscrapers, residential, and industrial.

 
I like this map, with four traders nicely lined up really close to eachother + two more a bit further away.

there does seem to be a lack of anything over 3 stories high :/ we went throught like 10 seeds trying to find something bigger than a small town. WHatever they did to the map generation is causing those things to not spawn :/

OMG! What a fun and crazy exciting map!

on 120 minute days (I like the pace until I build a respectable fort)

But Zombie Bear attacks! On Day 1! Before noon! :D

I didn't stay to fight with my wood club but I'll be back!

Man this seed is amazing! spawned near the center south near the 3 traders and big town with lots of stores to loot
