Art style overhaul

Hi all,

Why did the art style changed to a borderlands like style?
Is there a reason behind this?

It was what iLLOGICKA wanted to go with. Hopefully we get some of their devs in here to maybe give a better response.
 
I personally am not a fan of that change at all. I get it isn't meant to be as serious of a game as 7 Days, but I just don't like that style.
I don't know, I think it is kind of cool. Maybe it's because it is something different from the original. Personally, IMO, if I see that it looks just like the original, then I probably wouldn't buy it myself. Because I would feel like I'm buying the game all over again.
 
Biased opinion here, but I think the change in art allows that spinoff game to have its own identity.

AFAIK, it is not just a simple shader change. Their art team has done alot of work to get to that look.

Apart from the looks, I sincerely hope some of you guys here try it out as it's a interesting experience. Familiar (bloodmoon survivor gameplay) but with a twist (play as zombie hives master with RTS elements).

Its an absolute joy to sneak up on survivors or collapse a building underneath them...
 
I'm interested in it still, but the art style does nothing for me. It's doing too much. Let the game speak for itself as far as standing out. But the only way I will probably buy it is if I can get some buddies to buy it as well as it's not the type of game I wanna deal with randos in.
 
I am fine with the art style. I would rather it have its own art style then just be a close of 7 days to die.
 
Meh, changing things just to change things typically isn't a good thing to me. It is 7 Days still, after all.

Same universe yes, but I expect this to be more like dead by daylight. I doubt we will see a skill tree similar to 7 days or any other survival RPG FPS games.

These kind of games usually also are heavy on DLC´s. Looking a DBD with 202€ worth of DLC´s and that´s while a sale is going on, more like 300€ with no sale. Friday the 13th also started with DLC´s before the legal battle about the whole franchise put a stop to everything F13 related. (there is a new F13 game coming up btw)

I'm not a fan of the art in Bloodmoons at all. I will occasionally play a game with a similar type of cartoony art style, but it usually doesn't last long because such games tend to be very shallow. Whether or not that will be true with Bloodmoons, who knows? In any case, the gameplay isn't anything that I would enjoy from what they've said about it, and I don't have any interest in any kind of spinoff game anyhow. So I have no intention of ever trying that game even if it was free. Sorry, but it just isn't something I think will be a good game. I'm sure others will like it, but it isn't my kind of game, at least with the current description of the game.

If the game was completely new and in the 7D2D universe, it would be one thing. But right now, it's just a cookie cutter version of this with essentially a modded gameplay and a new art style. It looks more like an overhaul mod than a new game.

A 4v1 PvP game isn´t anything like 7 days. It might look the same but i bet it will be very different to play, no cheese as there is only humans involved, no dumb zombies, doing stupid things like hittig a pole that isn´t even in their path and so on. And these kind of games are live service games, you really can´t compare that. And as already said before there is a bunch of RTS elements at least for the Hive mind player. @Riamus
