Armor Idea

Forgive me if this has been posted before (or something similar), nothing came up on my search.

My idea is to remove the new bonuses from all armors and make them a special mod and mod slot on the armors. This way all the bonuses can be crafted or found in loot returning some of the value to clothes piles, drawers, dressers, etc. and it allows you to dress how you want. The mods would have a tier just like how armor and weapons work. For example, you could have a tier 5 mod for "Undead Damage bonus" on a tier 1 set of gloves.

I'm not so sure about this next part but maybe at tier 5 or 6 armor you could have 2 of these special mods per armor but no duplicates.

Set bonuses could still remain in their current state.

With the new wardrobe system they're going to be adding, it's expected that you will be able to dress how you want while wearing the armor that gives you the stats you want.

Yea I figured as much. But I would like to customize which bonuses I have. Definitely would need to be balanced to work that way but, being able to mix and match which bonuses I want would be cool.

I mean, you basically could.  If you want the bonus from preacher gloves and miner hat and farmer chest and ranger boots, you can wear those and look like you are wearing all raider armor.  I don't think there is much chance they'll take the stats off the armor and turn them into mods.

I think they're asking to have Preacher gloves bonus on heavy armor, etc.

Not sure I'd like decoupling armor tier from the effect tier.  If we went down this road, I'd rather the effect mod have no tier, and inherit it from the armor.  Better quality armor gives the higher value bonus.

But I don't really see this happening.  Most of the bonuses are thematic, and decoupling them from the armor, in addition to the upcoming wardrobe would reduce armor to heavy/med/light and how many mod slots does it have?  There would be no difference between the various Heavy sets, etc except visuals, which you'll override with the wardrobe anyway.
