Windows Armor damages while dead

My friend died and stayed dead for a while.
his armor was fixed before he got attacked.
When he respawned after a while (he was dead afk for a time) his armor was broken.
Some zombies ran over his corpse and ate some now and then.
Does this still do damage?
 
Reproduction Steps
Die with max armor
respawn after a long time when zombies have passed and eaten
