I'm starting to wonder if there are sound events. Such as stepping on trash that makes noise, spawns some zombies that aren't part of the sleeper count. Dunno, but that would be awesome in it's own way.
Based on what faatal was saying, that is the new norm. The outside zombies are coming to investigate, and sometimes it is sleepers in other rooms hear you, but for some reason they bust outside, drop down, and come back in. So it seems like they are coming from outside, but really started inside. Don't know all the inner workings fully. But not everything seems like a bug, but there are still some they are working on.I was referring to 16.4 sleeper spawn, in comparison to the endless stream coming from outside of the house in 17. So far I haven't had many come from inside the house. Instead, I sneak attack a sleeper which never kills them with a head shot, head shot them with a few more arrows, and even sneaking I get 2 at a time coming from outside of the house. Kill those, and get 2-3 more coming from outside the house...
hmmmm, I still cover distance that fast while sprinting. Which I basically stopped doing unless outside or running away from zombies, lol. Which then causes more to wake up and come after me. This update is crazy, haha. Not any more it isnt..
Reading the files have you found out how the spawn is supposed to work? Because it looks totally broken to me.Yeah, I've modded a few xml files and am enjoying the experience a bit more. I'll want to keep playing with them to slightly decrease the spawn rates of sleepers, but I played for another couple of hours today with a few modifications and had a better time. Still a couple of zombies seemed to spawn from nowhere, but nothing like the first night.
It's normal now. I found this from faatal, one of the devs. They may still be bugged. I was about 10 meters from a sleeper spawn point and they were spawning in front of my eyes on top of eachother. I'd shoot one with an arrow and it would walk to me and by the time it was dead another spawn where it came from.
